It’s just more shit that plebians pay for while the plutocrats concentrate even more of their wealth and power. Commoners pay for the defense of the plutocratic state. I kinda doubt the space force happens, but if it does and if it’s created in Trump’s image, it will become a kleptocrat’s wet dream.
Remove “potentially” and there is a one word summation of this: Trump.
The trumpniks will think it’s happening. But nah, it won’t happen. They’ll just print up some t-shirts and maybe some baseball caps with the logo and call it a day.
Not to mention: what’s the largest number of people we’ve ever had in space at one time? Somewhere around seven? Does that really qualify as a “force”? And suppose there’s some incident the Space Force needs to respond to, what kind of response times are we looking at, either from space or (more likely) from the ground? Will there be any significant improvement over what we’re already doing right now, besides neato patches on their uniforms?
Considering congress doesn’t care about treason, I’m gonna guess this is gonna get a pass.
I think the problem is deeper than congress not caring about treason; it’s tens of millions of voters voting for people who don’t care about treason and who don’t seem to care about a political party that operates in a nakedly corrupt manner. Scott Pruitt, Tom Price, the Trumps blatantly using the White House to enrich their organization. Christ, Wilbur Ross’ former business partners - who probably know something about the guy - are basically saying he robbed them blind. Chris Collins is now indicted for insider trading. And Republicans in states like Kansas and everywhere else seem to believe that culture war is their top priority.
The last one is a version of goatse.
Those darn activist judges – acting like the law means something.
Omarosa, trying to remain relevant, says that Trump used the n- word repeatedly on the set of the Apprentice and witnessed horrible things (racism) in the White House.
I don’t doubt it, but what does that say about her? She gave Trump a pass on his racism because she thought she was part of his tribe. Well, apparently not.
Don’t worry. They’ll be replaced as they die off/resign.
“Reaction from Trump’s base to the news varied widely, ranging from indifferent shrugs to tearful, ecstatic glossolalia.”
Just goes to show that selection of judges is best left to the Heritage Foundation…
No, the first generation already works and pays taxes. The three dudes who’ve been doing construction work in my house today were all immigrants; they’re all legally employed and paying taxes. I have no idea of their naturalization status, but I know for sure they all “have papers”.
They just want to build an Elysium-style home for the 1% in advance of Earth becoming a shithole. And the 99% will pay for it!
And I don’t get the “Mars Awaits” one. What has that got to do with a military space force? Are they planning an invasion in case we find aliens there?
We can close the thread. This covers the Trump administration.
Soon, Trump supporters will be denying reports that they are spacist.
“We need the Space Wall to fight illegal immigration from those MS-Apollo 13 bastards. They’re sending rapists. They’re sending murderers. And some, I’m sure, are very fine aliens. And Marsico will pay for it!”
This ^
I stand corrected.
Meanwhile, it looks like Trump won’t need to use EU countries as an excuse to kill NATO; he’s fighting economic jihad against arguably the most important NATO member of them all, Turkey, in an effort to win over Christian zealots.

Not that we didn’t already have problems with Turkey predating Trump, but this hardly helps.
So, she wrote a book titled “Unhinged.” Seriously, is this meant to be a description of the White House or the author? I can just imagine her editor reading a draft of the book and picking up the phone:
"Hey, I’ve just finished it. It’s… uh, really something. Nobody’s going to believe it. I mean, wow… People will know that you wrote this book. So, uh, I’ve been thinking about a title. How about… Unhinged? [chuckles] [pause] Really? You like it? Okaaaay. I guess we’re done here k thanks bye!’
[call disconnects]
“She went for it! I almost lost it, but she’s good with it!”
[room erupts with laughter, high fives]
