I know. And the problem is, the “liberal” media behaves the same way as the Democrats do ; they try desperately to keep playing by the rules, stick to ethical principles, refuse any burnt bridges. What they should do is remind the administration (and, by extension, every other would-be fucker out there) the truth of the adage that one shouldn’t pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel.
The truth is that, while President Pants-on-head keeps whining that everyone and their mother is so very unfair to him, the media is still stuck on 2 and quivers at the thought of turning it up to 3. They should turn it to 11 and never look back. Usher in the reign of the imperial press. That’s the one thing the Nazis and Fuck News got right. They abandoned civility some decades ago (even though they’re wont to drape themselves in it).
I’m not saying the mainstream press should be partial the way the conservative media is - but they should absolutely take the gloves off and burn them. Answer fuck you with fuck you right back (all the while remaining open to a normalizing back of relations when the other side comes back, hat in hand). That goes for politicians as well.
I get what you’re saying. But Trump brought this on himself, because: the footage of Obama playfully tossing paper towels would have been part of the larger coverage, of him walking through the devastation, talking to survivors, visiting hospitals, listening to local officials.
Trump left out all that part – the part that required empathy and understanding…because he ain’t got those.
