It’s not just faith; it’s about who gets to define our society’s identity, and who gets to control our society. They don’t live in a world in which fairness, objectivity, and truth are ideals. They live in a world in which they want themselves and ‘their kind’ to have the power. It really doesn’t matter how they get that power, because they’re preordained to have it, and the ends will justify the means.
Trump would be nothing without the people who have long held this view of America, and there tens of millions of them.
The US would have to retaliate, which would lead to at best another Cold War and the opening for China to advance to World Leader.
It would be used as an excuse to crack down on civil liberties.
Fox News would start reporting on rumors that Obama, Clinton, or just ‘the Democrat Party’ in general was really behind it before the funeral was over.
And, worst of all, I would have to listen to otherwise intelligent people debate that possibility, and complain that they are suffering minor inconveniences, while people from the Middle East and black African Americans are being imprisoned and killed, who knows for what reason.
