The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

The sky’s the limit!

Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring, bananaphone!

Mushroom is somehow apropos: what else would a fungal infection fuck the country with?

Trinidad Silva, actually.

An excellent point, Sir.

Don’t worry. Republicans will make sure you get one as a result of their next round of tax cuts.

and he stole from Alfonso Bedoya.

Trump: “If I did one mistake with Comey, I should have fired him before I got here. I should have fired him the day I won the primaries." Uh. He knows the difference between a primary, a general election, and when he actually became President and could have fired Comey, right?

Comey released the information about the investigation of Clinton before the election while staying quiet about the investigation of Trump. I’m sure in Trump’s mind, he decided this meant that Comey was now working for him. He expected that Comey would obey his orders and do whatever Trump told him to do.

Comey was willing to help Trump get elected but he had limits; he apparently wasn’t willing to break the law for Trump. Trump saw this as betrayal.

Thought it was Cheech from Up In Smoke, but its that Weird Al movie, UHF.

Comey has claimed that he never dreamed Trump would win. So he gave a public dressing-down to the person he believed would be his next boss. What sort of relationship was he expected with a Clinton administration?

So you’re not worried about having a religious fanatic President? Pence could do extremely stupid things to try to fulfill religious prophecy.

A perhaps strained but professional one? Unless of course the Clinton’s forced him to commit ‘suicide’.

Not a good one, but he probably felt that Clinton wouldn’t be so brazen and amoral as to fire Comey once she took office. He either consciously or subconsciously calculated that Clinton respected the norms of the office enough for them to move past the incident. He also probably felt he could maintain the Bureau’s credibility with critics in Congress.

Who’s a better friend and/or subordinate : someone who’ll give you shit whenever you try to cut corners or stray off the “right path” ; or someone who’ll enable you to stray and stray and stray all the way until the shit hits the fan ?

He could, but Pence is not extremely stupid. He’s actually established a degree of political acumen, walking the tight rope of being a pseudo-religious fanatic on one hand and the president’s explainer in chief on the other. Of course, it probably helps that he’s the one person Trump can’t fire. But Pence has probably calculated that if he takes office, he needs legitimacy in Trumpworld.

Naw, I’ll take a religious prophecy over a nuclear one, any day.

Why not both?

Interesting interview of the Circus Peanut-in-Chief by The Hill this morning.

Highlights:

“I don’t have an Attorney General. It’s very sad.”

“He was the first Senator that endorsed me. And he wanted to be Attorney General, and I didn’t see it.”

“And then he went through the nominating process and he did very poorly. I mean, he was mixed up and confused, and people that worked with him for, you know, a long time in the Senate were not nice to him, but he was giving very confusing answers. Answers that should have been easily answered. And that was a rough time for him.”

“He gets in and probably because of the experience that he had going through the nominating when somebody asked him the first question about Hillary Clinton or something he said ‘I recuse myself, I recuse myself.’ And now it turned out he didn’t have to recuse himself. Actually, the FBI reported shortly thereafter any reason for him to recuse himself. And it’s very sad what happened.”

“We’ll see what happens. A lot of people have asked me to [fire him]. And I guess I study history, and I say I just want to leave things alone, but it was very unfair what he did.”

“My worst enemies, I mean, people that, you know, are on the other side of me, in a lot of ways including politically, have said that was a very unfair thing he did.”

“We’ll see how it goes with Jeff. I’m very disappointed in Jeff. Very disappointed.”
What a fucking shitshow. Hilarious, but a shitshow nonetheless.

I still can’t understand how someone would let their boss publicly ridicule and humiliate them like that and just keep working.
