The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

The story I saw said yesterday. The problem is that Trump does so much completely outrageous stupid shit, that we are ready to believe anything. It is not because we are so partisan. It is because he says and does unbelievably stupid stuff constantly.
ETA I would like to than you for your diligent news posting. I know others have thanked you in the past, but here’s another poster that is grateful.

FOX news seems to agree that he (and vp) skipped out -

On the current front page of foxnews is an image and the words “Noticeably Absent” with the headline of “Trump, Pence miss Veterans Day observance at Arlington Cemetery” –

From Salon.

From his golf club.
FUCK.

Anyone hear anything from Republicans?

“What’d he shoot?”

Hey, I play golf on Sundays. It fell on a Sunday. One has one’s priorities.

I don’t think republicans care at all that he played golf - at least he played a white sport like golf and not a sport for minorities like basketball or a sport for foreigners like soccer. It’s not that important to repubs because everyone knows they love the military and democrats hate it.

Himself in the foot.

Aside from cries of “fake news!” whenever presented with evidence of Trump being an awful person or president? No.

Even by Trump standards, this was an incredibly stupid move. Trump’s military credentials are already shaky and that’s a subject his base cares about. Hell, it’s a subject Trump himself has pumped up to use against other people.

Ha! Trump playing soccer (or any sport that boosts your heart rate) is crazy.

Trump Decides Not To Leave WH To Visit Arlington Cemetery On Veteran’s Day

“No movements”? I guess that means no tweets from the bathroom, eh?

On top of his trying to get military absentee ballots thrown out in Florida.

Trump is preparing to remove Kirstjen Nielsen as Homeland Security secretary, aides say.

I hear that Jeff Sessions is looking for a job…

And President Shitstain did NOTHING to commemorate Veterans Day. Nothing whatsoever in an official capacity. Not even a tweet.

Yeah, keep voting Republican, military.

This might mean that he intends to get filthy on matters of immigration. Stephen Miller and John Bolton win; John Kelly and his understudy lose. I wonder how much more of this Kelly can take. I kinda suspect that pushing Nielsen out the door is as much about pushing Kelly out as it is Nielsen.

Soon we’ll have a White House of wolves. If you’re going to assault the Constitution and democracy, you don’t want people standing in your way. You don’t want lawyers and patriotic duty-bound ex-military resisting your impulses. You want ideologues and crackpots enabling you. This is where we’re headed. And it’s about to get fucking nasty.

Nielsen and Kelly are not moderates. They just know not to wear their hoods in public.

The rumor I see going around is Nielsen and Mattis out, Graham in at DOD and Cotton in at DHS.

Kelly, as far as I’m concerned, can go fuck himself. He showed his true colors early and often (remember the comment about the press when he was holding a sword?), and isn’t about to get a redemption ticket from me. The only unsullied members of this administration are Mattis and Dunford.

List of Medal of Freedom awardees announced today. Bunch of dead people (cause they can’t turn him down) and a GOP megadonor. I guess if I’d given $100 million to the GOP I’d be expecting an award too. I can’t wait to hear what he highlights as her achievements that will put her on par with other recipients.

Here is the story I was remembering - Obama skips Arlington to go to a different national cemetery on Memorial Day, and got crucified for it (Biden did Arlington that year).

I think Mattis is definitely out. Mattis isn’t going to be on board with plans to hyper-politicize the military, and I think that’s what’s on tap next. I acknowledge that I have no evidence to support it at the present time, but the logic is that if you’re done with democracy, which I think the Trumpists are, then you load the institutions with ideologues. Replace independent and objective judges with ideologues. Replace prosecutors, federal police, and the military generals with ideologues and loyalists. That way, if democracy votes against the conservatives in 2020, they’ll have people in power who have less respect for constitutional norms like the peaceful transition of power. As we get closer to the election and as the possible outcomes come into clearer focus, I would also watch more carefully to see what happens to electors in right-leaning or “purple” states. I don’t put it past the conservatives to tinker with the electors.
