Climate zones are not determined by temperature alone. Juneau is nowhere near having a Mediterranean climate; it is on the boundary between cool summer humid continental and subarctic climates.
The most telling statistic is summertime rainfall. Average rainfall in California in Jun-Sept = virtually zero. Avg rainfall in Juneau in those months = a metric shit ton.
