In general, that seems to be the direct connection between Ron and those who somehow manage to admire them. The Ron is enamored with himself and the first thing he tells someone upon meeting them (in fact, something he repeats constantly) is how great and how smart and how handsome and how nice and how everything-good he is; the Ron-duhs are those who have so little confidence in their own eyes and ears that they believe the Ron is wearing fashionable clothing despite clearly seeing way too much of his crack. The Rons are nothing but inflated confidence; the Ron-duhs are insecurity wrapped in on itself.
