Seriously, what is up with Lindsay Graham lately? When John McCain was still alive, those two were inseparable. And given the way Trump treated McCain, you’d think Graham would harbor some ill feelings towards Trump. But lately he seems to be winning the “which Republican can shove their noses the furthest up Trump’s ass” contest.
Brian Williams on MSNBC pointed out that the fine print on the fundraising indicates that there is no special Border Fund. Any contribution go to his re-election campaign.
Lawrence O’Donnell made the same point on his show. And after the speech an email went out to those who hadn’t availed themselves of the opportunity to get on The List™ offering them another chance (although from what I could see there were more amounts available, implying that they should’a joined when they could have done so for $5). No mention of the re-election campaign disclaimer, but I’m sure it was there in spirit.
Of all the outrageous, illegal, unconstitutional and utterly douche-y things he’s done, this may just be the one that pisses me off the most. (And not just because I live in California.) He’s taken the one function of the federal government that’s the most altruistic, the least controversial – banding together and helping each other in our hour of need – and turned it nakedly partisan and political. Fuck you, Trump, and may you rot in hell.
And by the way … half the forests in California are federal land. If you’re not happy with the amount of floor sweeping going on, fire your Secretary of Agriculture.
Yeah, but they do pay attention–I’ve noticed petitions on Facebook and such to have him fired because…gasp!..he’s criticized the president and that makes him FAKE NEWS!

I hadn’t seen one of the fundraising emails before. Do they think his fans actually believe that Trump sees their names? The second one basically said “Donald noticed that your name was not on the list! Send money now so he will, with his own eyes, see your name!”. I know they think his fans are stupid, but do they think they are that stupid?
And speaking of his stupid fans, I guess if they see any news about his meeting with journalists yesterday where he actually said he did not want to give the speech or go to the border, they will believe that is fake news. It really is astounding how they are brainwashed.
Yes, they absolutely believe it. Yes, they are that stupid.
Just like people watching televangelists believe that when they touch the TV screen, they are actually getting big doses of healing juice directly from the Prophet’s hand.
