The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Cohen has told Mueller’s office that Loser Donald ordered him to lie to Congress about the Russia deal.

SAD!

Okay, is it just me or did anyone else, upon reading that, suddenly start hearing “Yakity Sax”?

Hell, I’ve been hearing that ever since the whole “Where’s Mitch?” hunt started.

Heh. I see Drudge now has that “collusion” headline up, as was mentioned; and also a headline about how the Political Tit-For-Tat Continues, right over by a headline about how the FBI And Other Federal Agents See Cases Hampered; and also a headline about how Trump Directed His Attorney To Lie To Congress About Moscow…

…oh, and The Pences: Defenders Of Christian Values In The White House.

Only if we keep missing him.

How reputable is Buzzfeed as a source? But it’s looking more and more like it will be President Pence next week.

They’ve won a Polk Award (for their 2017 reporting on a Chicago PD officer who framed numerous people for murder) and been a Pulitzer finalist (for their 2017 reporting on corporate use of binding arbitration in employee contracts), one of their senior reporters has won the Pulitzer outright (for his 2014 coverage on mistreatment of black lung disease patients by the legal system) and they were the first source to report on the existence of the Steele dossier.

If this bears out - which it almost certainly will - they’ll have that Pulitzer for sure.

Buzzfeed news is very good.

Is it just a Mitch hunt?

It’s interesting to me that Buzzfeed used to be a totally lightweight site. The Onion had a funny article a few years back where a Buzzfeed writer is briefly detained in some repressive country because they think he’s a journalist. After the writer tells them about the listicles he’s writing they let him go because he’s definitely not a journalist. And now, just a few years later, Buzzfeed is producing awesome journalism.

I think we’ve crossed into a whole new level. As the story unfolds, it seems that Mueller has corroborating testimony and other evidence to confirm that Donald indeed suborned perjury. This SHOULD be game-set-match-championship. The rest of the investigation should continue, but in terms of impeachment, this is more than sufficient. But unfortunately, Senate Republicans are quite likely to put party above country and indeed party above the law. But they need to be on the record for doing so. Time to impeach.

Buzzfeed News is pretty much wholly separate from main Buzzfeed, which is where all the listicles live. Kind of unfortunate, because I dismissed them for a while exactly for the name.

It’s almost like they’re trying to send some sort of subtle message…

It’s weird where quality journalism sometimes pops up: Buzzfeed, Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue…

Yeah, if the Drudge Report is supposed to be one of Individual-1’s biggest supporters, then Dotard is in big trouble.

Here are actual headlines on the DR as I type this:

“Delusion not Collusion” (they ruined it!)
“Report: Trump directed His Attorney to Lie to Congress about Moscow Tower Project”
“Dems vow action…”
“Resign or be impeached”
“Michael Cohen and a bag of cash”
“Set to publicly testify February 7th…”
“President’s ties to DEUTSCHE BANK in sights…” (capitalization theirs)
“Paper: Why can’t Trump make deals? No one trusts anymore…”
“TSA acknowledges financial stress forcing growing number to stay home…”
“FBI and other federal agents see cases hampered…”

A BIG OLD PICTURE OF “THE ATLANTIC” WITH THE COVER SAYING “IMPEACH”
“MAG: It’s time…”

“Circular Firing Squad: Mueller targets turn on each other…”
“Investigators to ask Ecuador Embassy staff about Assange visitors…”

How many supporters has he lost? “Fake News”!

If you look at other news pieces from the authors of the latest Cohen/Trump Tower article, they seem to have been way out in front of other journalists on that subject. They break it and the Times/Post or a Court filing comes along and confirms much later.

Sometimes you never know where the big stories come from. John Edwards’ infidelity was first exposed in The National Enquirer of all places. Sure, what they publish is 95% crap, but every once in a while…

I suspect that it’s going to become extremely difficult to find any Republicans to interview on the this subject over the next few weeks, except maybe for Lindsey Graham, who surfaces long enough to mouth some platitudes about how the President’s conduct is “regrettable” but that we must not rush to judgement before all the facts are in. Which I’m fine with. Kicking Trump’s fat, sorry ass out by summer is good enough.

I would like to see the Buzzfeed report verified. Hundreds are working today to prove/disprove it, so it should be relatively soon.
