The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Chicken I’ve had, obviously, but I’ve never tried fried watermelon and pecan pie. I’ll give it a shot.

That one Mexican restaurant that used to be in Taos had the most wonderful fried ice cream.

It took nearly five years, but Mrs Magill and I finally got to Hattie B’s. Holy moly, that’s good chicken.

Okay, people. Focus!

Well, the whole structure was brought over but only the outer layer of stone was used over a concrete core. The rest of the rock was sawn into one-inch cubes and handed out/sold as souvenirs. My folks owned property in Lake Havasu City, bought when it first was developed, and got one for free. It was promptly lost.

We’ve got a newcomer? Let’s explain about “Cite?”, a frequent request here at SDMB.

I’m afraid we’ll need a cite for that. I Google “Soros Illuminati controls the media -conspiracy” and get over 200,000 hits. Note the “-conspiracy” option to get rid of the crackpot sites.
Here’s just one of the hits. Soros (“the Lord of Chaos”) thinks he’s a God; he controls dozens of media outlets. Among the “charities” he gives money to is the ACLU. He has caused a tsunami in Europe and is colluding with Hillary, and Obama to swamp the U.S. under a flood of Muslims. He helps fund the Global warming hoax.

Just read the comments on the page I linked to. It will make you sick.

So: No, I know this is the Pit but we’ll still need a cite for the claim that George Soros doesn’t control all the media (except a few lonely truthtellers; he even shut down Infowars). I won’t need you to refute all 200,000 hits. How about even the top 20 or 30 hits?

Is this a joke?

So what do we get from the first link? (That site BTW is like crackpot central)

Uh, at first it looked as if you did find that that “control” is not on the side of Soros, there is indeed a lot of control of the media coming from the right wing or corporate entities that are against Soros. But when you claim that Infowars told the truth and that Global warming is a hoax, then I have to say:

Dude, what is wrong with you?

Yes.

See above.

I know sometimes the Dope feels like [del]a hive mind[/del] The Borg, but subtle sarcasm/humor REALLY needs a footnote or some kind of explanation. We don’t always know exactly what each other is thinking, kwim?

True, but if someone such as, say, YOU had submitted septimus’s post above, I don’t imagine there would be any need to take precautions against stumbling into Poe’s Law.

Oh well, bitten by Poe. Sorry about that then septimus.

Hey, to be fair, when septimus really cranks it up, it’s fucking Poe’s Law To The Max sometimes. More than once I’ve found my hackles raising only to realize that, hey, waitaminnit, don’t I remember this other stuff septimus wrote and he seemed really cool and laid back…

:smack:

D’oh! He got me again!

I can usually sort out such, especially by remembering poster history.

What gets me is when I think that someone is posting something satirical :p, I laugh a bit:D, and then realize that they are being serious:smack:.

“Ancient Erudite” comes to mind, for instance.

Does Soros control Time magazine?

nothing to see here

Honestly, when will our patience run thin enough to snap? Fuck.

Sounds like a really committed believer. And there’s a way he can prove to us all that his beliefs are true! Just install some of that radiation-emitting equipment that the bad old EPA has been regulating, right in his own office. Make sure he’s getting plenty of rads each day.

Don’t just talk the talk—walk the walk!

Re Dirgo Garcia.

Are the beaches good? Not bad at all, but you have to swim in the lagoon, not on the other side of the island.

Are the people nice? Well, they got screwed over pretty hard and there are no more locals on the island.

I feel duly shamed and have amended my .sig.

That link you posted was off the map. How can people write shit like that? And then just fucking put it on the web, where anyone can see it? Have they no sense of shame?

Sometimes you eat a bad oyster and you need to get rid of it ASAP…*
*kidding. When ingested, ALL oysters are bad; not being made out of food, they are fit only for use as pearl factories and props in inappropriate hazing rituals.)
