The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Hey, folks, will someone please start a separate Randy Rainbow thread?

I wish Trump would axe the chairman of the FCC and appoint Mancow to that post. It’s always tickled me what a loving Christian Mancow is. I’m sure he’d exercise self-restraint and not offend his devout brethren.

Mancow is an idiot fucking jackass, so he’d fit right in with Trump and the rest.

The one time I wish we had a “Like” button…

I wonder if Trump would even know who Mancow is if someone brought him up? Despite sometimes appearing on Fox and Alex Jones, the only thing he’s gotten any major attention from in the last decade-plus was when they demonstrated “waterboarding” on him and he bailed almost as quickly as Mr. Bone Spurs would. It’s depressing how huge that guy was in the Chicago market in the early 2000s.

The National Enquirer actually contacted the Department of Justice to ask them if they should register as an agent for a foreign government because of their publishing of an entire issue slathering the Saudi government with praise. The DOJ said, “nah.”
WSJ: National Enquirer Publisher Asked DOJ If It Should Register As Saudi Agent - TPM – Talking Points Memo?

This is just me putting things together, but since Khashoggi was a Washington Post reporter, and Jeff Bezos is trying to ferret out all of the details of his murder, and since Saudi is responsible, and since the National Enquirer just went through multi million debt reconciliation with an unknown sponsor, could that sponsor have been the Saudi government, and could the Enquirer be going after Bezos not just because he’s on Trump’s enemies list, but also because he’s on Saudi’s enemies list?

It’s not just you.

This is massive political malpractice. Obama screwed this up too, but Trump and the GOP have bungled it even worse.

Oddly enough, Dubya got the politics right: if you want to curry favor with the voters using a tax cut, you send them rebate checks. You don’t just bury the money in their weekly paychecks, where each bit is relatively small and not noticed (even though economists will tell you it’s the most effective approach for Keynesian stimulus); and you certainly don’t set them up for an unpleasant surprise on April 15, when they find out their counted-on refund will be smaller than last year!

But even though Dubya’s presidency immediately preceded Obama and Trump, they failed to learn from his example. Strange.

Lol, I was going to ask why you’re quoting cinephiliac w/o attribution… and then I looked closer.

LOL…although looking at it, I’d say I paraphrased myself more than directly quoting myself.

Since the prime instigator, IMHO, of this incident is the Twerp-in-Chief, I figure this is the place to put this:

Donald Trump Supporter Launches ‘Incredibly Violent Attack’ On BBC Cameraman At El Paso Rally.

Yeah. That’s what we need. Presidential campaign rallies with people listening to an idiot who just happens to be the president and then doing what he clearly enjoys having them do. It’s not just that jackass in the crowd attacking the media.

Another article on Trump’s El Paso rally:

Trump pretended that Congress hadn’t just demolished his wall

Analysis: Lawmakers refused to authorize funding to pay for the president’s big campaign promise. Then he took the stage in El Paso.

[my bold]

“more fun”

As it’s been pointed out, Trump doesn’t seem to actually want to be president, he just wants to play one on TV and at rallies. And then spend hours watching cable news coverage of them. Does he actually do any real work?

There were “Finish the Wall” signs at the rally, since it appears he wants his base to think he’s actually accomplished something on the wall when reports are that no new sections of the wall have been built, just existing parts repaired.

I wonder how much of his base still believes he’s a great businessman and negotiator?

That’s why a lot of Trumppets I know voted for him.

The BBC. This is damned embarrassing.

It’s better that he doesn’t. It’s called “Executive Time” on his official daily schedule, btw.

It’s called “Goofing Off” on mine.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it odd that “security” is just a big dude in a MAGA hat?

Troubling/depressing/distressing? Yes. But odd? No.

Yep. Apparently 60% of his workday:

Axios: Since midterms, Trump has spent nearly 60% of his scheduled time in unstructured ‘executive time’

But don’t worry:

Trump responds to leaked schedules, says ‘Executive Time’ is ‘a positive, not a negative’

I believe Trump also said he was the hardest working president in history. It’s not like Lincoln or FDR had any messes to deal with. I bet FDR spent a lot of time listening to the radio coverage of him and Lincoln probably sat around reading personal telegrams.

Maybe hes praying.
