Will Trump hurt this country? Absolutely. But he’ll do it by tripping over his own feet not by carrying out some sinister plan. As I’ve said before, Trump couldn’t successfully hold up a convenience store if you dropped him off in the parking lot and put the gun in his hand.

I have limited knowledge of economic theory and don’t know whether price levels in a single industry like pharma would be considered macroeconomics or microeconomics (I suspect micro), but I’d bet she knows more about economics than Jared Kushner.
Yes, Trump is an incompetent buffoon, but he does possess the ability to get more competent people to do his bidding:

Because he holds out the promise of money. Without that, he has nothing. As POTUS he tries to add a promise of power as well, but the truth is we can deny him that ability. And if we see from his tax returns that he really has no money, well…

In a thread about Kushner, Carson, and Barr (lately) I’m gonna have to ask for a cite on that statement.

Well, relative to Trump himself–the business artist of the deal who lost a billion dollars in a decade.
Kushner may be slightly less incompetent and doesn’t seem to have Trump’s massive ego (although, who does?), and he’s no business genius either, with the 666 5th Avenue purchase (which raises his conflicts of interest with trying to get bailed out by foreign money).
Barr so far is doing what Trump wants–they got their initial spin on the Mueller report out, but we’ll see what happens in the end. He’s stymied congressional oversight so far and is conducting his dog-and-pony investigation into the investigators.
But as I mentioned, as a younger man Carson was a very competent neurosurgeon. Here’s a cite about what made his name:

And it’s sad to see what Carson is today compared to what he was doing 30 years ago. Now he spouts scientific ignorance instead of doing ground-breaking medicine. He’s not competent in what he’s been tasked to do today. Does he have any real qualifications to be HUD secretary? He once lived in a house? Carson actually said he was unqualified to be HHS secretary and that would have been at least related to his background.
In the sound clips I heard Friday, where he touted his new immigration policy, Trump sounded as though he were reading from a teleprompter, and about half asleep.
The self-congratulatory obnoxiousness in this has inspired me to respond by offering this paraphrase of Marvin Lee Aday: I wish Forever would hurry up and get here already…

As for the science, notice that he’s not criticizing all scientists, just the “highfalutin” ones, who probably deserve it. Nobody likes highfalutin scientists.

That was supposed to be a joke. Carson is such a complete blithering moron that it’s a wonder he can walk upright. I can’t imagine how anyone who went to school at all, at any level, could have such an appalling lack of understanding of even the most elementary scientific concepts. It’s like his ignorance is some kind of performance art.

I knew I liked him when I saw him in the Cohen hearings and he actually asked questions relevant to the investigation instead of rambling about book deals and movies like the other Republicans.
