As we know by now, it doesn’t matter in the least if it’s real or not, or even if Trump believes it’s real. He’ll be mentioning it proudly in every single rally and televised speech from now until the end (whether that be nuclear Armageddon, some other type of Armageddon, or Trump’s being silenced by other means–heart attack, solitary confinement, or what have you).
Actually I’m surprised Trump hasn’t demanded that Bibi rename the entire country. “Trumpael” has a certain ring to it, eh?

The most likely leak, to be honest, is Team Trump and I don’t mean that they have a person giving stuff to the press, secretly.
Ain’t no way a group that works for campaigns is going to leak something. They know how to do this and keep it tight.
Team Trump has had a long time to work the faithless out of the mix.
I’d take it as evidence that they feel like they have a decent chance with Biden. They’re less worried about him than others, so they’re giving him a boost. “Don’t throw me in that there Br’er Patch!” And all that.

Personally, I suspect that they’re using Kellyanne as, in essence, a spy against the press, feeding them false and misleading information while having others leak information that Kellyanne is secretly opposed to Trump.
Michael Wolff’s quotes about her should have had her kicked out a while ago and yet there’s never been any indication that Trump is the least bit happy with her or worried about her faith.
The alternative theory that I heard is that yes, it was leaked by Team Trump. But it was done because they got tired of having their analyses ignored, and figured the only way to get their Candidate to listen and focus is to have it appear on cable news.
Most likely… and also very sad.

If Trump doesn’t win, he’s going to jail. The man busted his ass campaigning to keep the Senate, up to and including creating a conspiracy theory that got some Jewish people shot (despite that Trump is massively pro-Jewish), and yet he kept endorsing it all the way to election day. He used the office of the Presidency to fundraise off the Wall as a way to divert money into the 2020 campaign. Ain’t no way he’s not paying attention.

If you work for Trump, wanting him to be a part of the process isn’t really something you look for, let alone use underhanded means to secure. The only exception being his one strength, which is self-promotion. But he never stops self-promoting, so that’s not really something you can or need to ask him to do more of and, as said, you’re not going to get a much greater stick to use on him than the threat of jail time.
The safe bet is that, as always, the liberal media is allowing themselves to be used as Trump’s key advertising vehicle, pressing billions of dollars worth of eyes the direction that he wants them to look.
CNN, WP, and the NYT did more for Trump than Russia ever did, and that’s by several 1000X.
Yup, when it comes to Trump strategy, the smart money is that he is losing at tic-tac-toe rather than winning at 3D Chess.
Any real evidence of this? He’s pro-Israel (well, sort of) and pro-rich people (this accounts for the Kushners) but not really pro-Jewish.
He’s not really an out and out antisemite as far as I can tell, but he certainly tosses off antisemitic stereotypes like it’s the 50s again. I mean, when you say to a room full of Jewish Republicans words to the effect of ‘I’m a great negotiator, just like you people’, that’s not exactly a studied, nuanced statement on the ethnic background to the people you are addressing. I suppose in his mind that’s a great compliment, but c’mon.

Buried in a recent news report about America’s secret program of placing “digital implants” in the Russian power grid is an interesting and troublesome revelation. Namely, that senior US intelligence officials are so concerned about the president of the United States being an unrestrained ignoramus or a Russian spy, that they are holding back valuable state secrets from Agent Orangeski because they are concerned that he will either reveal details about our Cyber Command program or nix the entire plan altogether.

Making a big splash with your racist followers by SAYING you’re going to do this and then not following through is the *winning *strategy. You get all the bang for your buck but avoid the messiness, expense, and legal blowback from actually having to DO it. The MAGAbots are thrilled with the threat, and that’s all that matters. They like it when the black/brown people are threatened.
A few years ago when the illegal alien population was estimated to be 12-million I was talking to someone of the “round 'em all up and throw 'em all out” school and I mentioned that even if that effort was a mere thousand dollars a head (Ha!) it would come to a 12-billion (with a B) dollar tab.
That was pretty much his response. Even my spitting, “So I guess a 50-cent bullet is cheaper than a trial, then.” did not faze him.
This should be worrying – and it should be even more worrying for Republicans because it’s clear that Trump is increasingly painting himself into a corner. His trade wars and our ailing farmers, his threats of even bigger and more extreme tariffs, his praise of Kim Jung Un and Vladimir Putin, his request to have foreign enemies disrupt our political process, his 34 indicated pals, his supreme court ruling that just allowed New York to prosecute him, his backing out of the Iran deal…lots of little insect bites and not enough repellent. Some of those just might become infected.
