In particular, you can do a search for the gerrymandering work of one Thomas Hofeller, a Republican strategist who did redistricting work across the country. And in particular in North Carolina, which is embroiled in a big redistricting fight.
After his death, his estranged daughter leaked several documents directly showing there was a strategy to draw districts along racial lines (contradicting several Republicans) to reduce Dem districts by suppressing minority votes and favoring non-Hispanic whites.

So, yes, there are certainly concerns about minority voting and demographics and plans were set in motion years ago to deal with it.
Nancy Pelosi pointed out that when Trump says MAGA, he really means “Make America White Again”.
Now Trump is saying that Pelosi said that herself and that she’s racist for saying it (which I guess she technically did in the context of interpreting Trump’s own tweets).
I was drawn to the handwritten words in the top-right. “Some People” immediately brought to mind one of Trump’s stock phrases, “Some people are saying…”

Could it be “Some people are saying Al-Qaeda… [are coming through the Mexican border]”? I didn’t listen to his speech.
Upon further investigation, it appears that the ‘ALCaiDa’ note was a reminder to attack Rep. Ilhan Omar for being an Al-Qaeda supporter (which isn’t true).
That makes no sense. It’s the one you’re referring to as Dear Leader who hates America. It’s right there in his NAME, fertheluvvamike: “America-hating fuckstick.”
I keep hoping for the one tweet that will bring his approval rating down a couple of points. Just 2 points! Well he has gone all in for "love it or leave it.’ And anyone wearing a MAGA hat is cheering this on. So he still has a 42% approval rating, I trust 538’s numbers.
He will always have the approval of the 25%. We just need to get a few percentage points from the independants. But fuck it, as long as the economy is where it is now, that is not going to happen. Right? I don’t know.
I think what it will come down to is voter turnout. I’ll bet Trump gets record turnout from the base. Does the Democrate candidate get that? Whoever it is, if it is Warrren or Harris or, especially Bernie, will be branded as a socialist (same thing as communist). And never underestimate the ignoance of the public about the difference. Or about what socialism is.
I don’t know. I am a progressive, I would love to see Bernie get the nomination and win the election. I have never in my life voted for the candidate based on electability. And that candidate is Biden. I think Warren, and Harris, could win. But I am very sure Biden would win.
I am a little tired of the “this is the most importand election in our lifetime” idea, but this one is. We simply cannot let Trump appoint more justices and judges. And I am very tired of “we can’t run a progressive candidate this time, we will have to settle for incremental change.” It is always “wait til next year.” Well, this time, with this fucking facist in the White House, incremental change will have to be enough.
The final result of all this is that I am almost unbearably saddened at my fellow Americans. Never in my life would I have believed I could be brought to think so little of my countrymen and women.
It may have cost votes but the truest thing Hillary ever said was to point out the deplorables among us.
Get rid of minorities? Nah, who would he have left to demonize then?
Donald Trump is a political terrorist, like Al Qaida. You know how Al Qaida would always try to pull off these insanely complicated terrorist events like commandeering airplanes and flying them into skyscrapers when they could probably just as easily go into a mall and shoot it up? They chose the spectacular over the practical, because it got headlines. They got attention. Donald Trump is not much different. He’s a white nationalist Bin Laden.
