But a serious question. Why the hell are we sending troops to Saudi Arabia? Do they have an army of any consequence? They sure as hell have a lot of weapons we sold them. Maybe the question can be answered in one word - “oil.” Is there some sort of implied, or direct quid pro quo , if we don’t help them they will, what, take oil off the market? Raise prices?

Individual 1 came flat out and said it was because Saudi is paying us. The US military is now mercenaries for hire.

IIRC, the Trump buildings in Ankara don’t belong to him; as is the case with perhaps the majority of Trump-branded properties, it’s just a licensing deal where he rents out his name and perhaps hires some managers. I seem to recall there being some dissatisfaction expressed by the owner a while ago … sorry, no research right now, the ALCS is on.

They have royals as officers who don’t give a damn about their troops, and troops who only know how to retreat. Yes, it is about oil, although we have enough for ourselves with fracking and the ruin that causes.
