It strikes me as more likely that the effect he’s after is to reduce swelling in his nasal passages, which, if not corrected can make snorting Adderall more difficult/less effective.

This link upthread shows a photo of the UK Sudafed package that appears to be what’s in the drawer next to Trump. It shows the ingredients as paracetamol (acetaminophen or Tylenol), caffeine and phenylephrene.

Phenylephrine is available in OTC decongestants in the USA. I thought there was some point beyond he probably needed a decongestant and he was in the UK, and then brought it home.
