She sold herself into a loveless relationship just so she could spend the rest of her life staring vacuously into the distance, thinking about her closet. The asterisk, as is common practice, refers to a footnote. The footnote, i.e., my signature, says,

• “Former President Trump” – saying it until it becomes true.

When I read the board, whether on my kindle or on my computer, the default is for my signature to show up at the bottom of every one of my posts. So… is that not the case for everyone? Please advise.

I was on one board for a while where half the posters were in the habit of larding up their sig lines with two or three embedded videos. After a while, even the wittiest of sig quips becomes annoying, and it is a massive relief not to be scrolling through any of that papage.

I didn’t turn them off, but I’ve never gotten sigs displaying. Which is FINE with me; if someone posts multiple times in a thread, reading the same line every time (that often has nothing to do with the discussion) would interrupt the flow.

Hmm, what to doooo, Thelma Looooo? You could just keep a text file handy and paste *Former President Trump *whenever you use it. That’s what most people do with terms not everyone’s privvy to.

Or close every post with *Former President Trump. Like Regards, or mmm

Or explain every day or two.

Or switch to an obvious nickname.

Or, my favorite, just use “Trump”. I imbue that with so much disdain that it’s worse than any pejorative or nickname.

Yes, I’ve already removed the asterisked reference to Former President Trump. All that remains is the Havel quote. When you edit the signature, it affects all the instances of your signature in all your posts going all the way back.

I think you’ve missed one step of projection. Starting the last line with the women treats the women as independent agents, something that nobody in Trump’s world is. It should be:
