Does anyone believe for a second that if Trump loses in 2020 that there will be a smooth transition of power? That he would just accept that?
I mean, I know that has long been the conspiracy theory about a lot of presidents. That they would refuse to step down. But, in this case, it certainly seems more likely than not.

That was less of a declaration and more of a sweeping, in search of a rug.
If Trump loses by anything other than a landslide, we are going to see a sh!t-storm the likes of which we have never seen, IMO. Frivolous court cases, unfounded recount demands, specious claims of outright fraud, outrageous things I’m too innocent to even imagine until he actually does them. We are in for a very bad period following election day 2020, no matter what the result is. If he wins, we get the worst president in history for four more years. If he loses big, God know what he’ll do as a lame duck. If he loses by a small margin, he will do anything he can do disallow the result, and he’ll have lots of willing help.
I don’t think he has. I think he has an atrophied sense of self-preservation that may have finally kicked in. Whatever triggered it must be horrendous.
I fully expect this to happen if/when he loses regardless of the margin of victory. 
ETA: After all, this is the same guy who came right out and said that he would only accept the results of the last election if he won.
