One could make a case that the choice of Pence was deliberate impeachment insurance … but Donny is not that devious. Stupid and malicious, yes … but he has no ability to think 2 moves ahead; so long-term strategy like that is beyond his capabilities.
Did Trump choose Pence all by hisself? That sounds like more of a real *decision *than he is capable of making. :dubious:

Right now, they are roaming around, deporting undocumented immigrants.
People have been asking the wrong question.
It’s not “How do you deport 12 million undocumented immigrants?”
It’s “What do you do with the force capable of deporting 12 million undocumented immigrants once it’s done?”
As crappy as pence is, he is still far better than trump. Gets you $1000 insurance on a $1,000,000 home.
Cnn.com “Trump Army secretary pick gave a lecture arguing against the theory of evolution”
His views on Creationism might not directly pertain to his duties and responsibilities of being the Army secretary, but this doesn’t speak highly for his ability to objectively evaluate real data without filtering it through personal beliefs that are at odds with fact.
Yeah, well, I expect we’ll see about this. Pence hads been canny enough to keep his head down and his mouth mostly shut while various other members of the Trump administration have made embarssing messes, so he’s smart enough to keep his born-again fundamentalist religious agenda from getting an airing, but make no mistake; if (when) Pence achieves the presidency, high on his agenda are going to be actions to curtail protections for reproductive and LGBQT as well as eliminating the boundaries between church and state. He and Betsy DeVos would like nothing better than teaching Creationism in high school biology as an “alternative” to, or in lieu of evolution. This would be like teaching the pantheon of Greek gods as responsible for weather in lieu of Earth science. These people are at best dangerously ignorant, and at worst silent apocalyptors hoping for the End Times so they can go meet Jesus or whatever flaketardedness they believe. They should not be in charge of a country, and especially one with a vast nuclear arsenal at its disposal.

I kinda see trump doing the same thing. He is supporting the republican establishment, and the only way that he would get the boot is if he pissed them off by not following their demands.
Pence is ideologically worse than trump, and it may be a concern that he is also competent enough to actually pull off the sort of stuff that trump is struggling with, but in the end, their EO’s will be similar, and the legislation that the sign will be nearly identical.
The only difference is, we get someone who probably won’t start a nuclear way, at least, not by accident.
I like those.
I dunno. Is it in bullet points?
Well, Jackson did squelch the nullification movement from South Carolina during his administration.
If, during the next three years, a plan to remove Jackson from the $20, his nibs, #45, will demand his beautiful puss be put on it. With gold curtains in the background.
This is what happens when an entitled, stupid, ignorant, weakling, spoiled BITCH becomes president.
Those are bad things. But they’re stoppable and reversible.
Nuclear war isn’t.
It sucks, but that’s the standard.
Of course Bannon would like good ole Andy Jackson, he was a genocidal racist… forced relocation, Indian wars, Trail of Tears etc.
It was Colonel Mustard, in the study.
Must’ve been the coloring book version.
Rachel Maddow, for one, has pretty conclusively demonstrated that Pence lied about Flynn. In any other administration it would be a huge scandal, but with Trump, it’s just background static.
Flynn story starts about ten minutes in:
Maddow killing it. (again):
Trump’s EPA pick bumbles from Washington state onto national stage
This was 45’s commissar of the EPA. He lasted there a couple of weeks and was then failed upstairs to head the Selective Service. Lucky for America, we’re not using the draft nowadays.

Aldona Wos’ disastrous tenure as DHHS secretary is finally over
She hired lots of young GOP operatives at huge salaries, even while badly serving the poor of North Carolina. So abusive, it sparked an FBI investigation.
So now, she’s been hired by 45
Aldona Wos, a former NC agency head, will help lead a White House commission for Trump
She’ll find some more incompetent, unknowledgeable 24 year olds to pay $85,000 to.
And then there’s Charmaine Yoest.
Trump Will Appoint a Zealot Who Insists Abortion Causes Breast Cancer to HHS Leadership
She has also claims contraception doesn’t work and IUDs have “life-ending properties”.
Oh, and in the clip from Maddow, she had Michele Bachmann level crazy eyes.
Just a sampling of the 45 administration’s utter total and complete incompetence.
I’m honestly not so certain that Pence would be reluctant to launch a nuclear attack. He’s been pretty close-mouthed about his conversation from conventional Catholicism to some brand of evangelical Christianity, and he’s clearly veered further and further to the extreme even as he has sought publically to minimize his legacy of religious belief. Not to breed unfounded rumors but he reminds me very much of some of the “silent apocalyptors” I’ve known who are quietly thrilled about the idea of a catacalysmic war supposedly ushering in the End Times, and they are a scary bunch of fucknuggets for how happy and content they are about the notion.
Mike Pence scares the fuck out of me. Trump is too stupid to do something right intentionally, and I’m hoping that his handlers will keep him from turning a Trumptrum into a major conflct. Mike Pence, on the other hand, is smart enough to wait for the right moment to rationalize otherwise an otherwise unpalatable action.

What’s next? —anything that distracts from questions about the Russian connections of the Trump Administration.
Notice that Trump debuted TWO major distractors the day before his planned telephone conversation with Putin: the Civil War/Andrew Jackson inanity, and the “I would be honored” to meet with the North Korean dictator comment.
He really, really, really doesn’t want anyone thinking about Russia.
I agree about Pence’s proclivities. One major–and important–difference between Trump and Pence, though, is that Pence has no fanatical fan base.
Pence may have his admirers among the most right-wing of Christian fundamentalists, I’ll grant you—but notice that before his elevation to the Vice-Presidency, he was never spoken of or considered to be the Great Fundy-Christian Hope.
He’d get up to some scary shit, given the chance—but he’s unlikely to be given the chance. He can’t launch the nukes on his own (any more than Trump can). And he’s far less likely to become the figurehead for a power-grab in the wake of some 9/11-level incident, than is Trump—those salivating over such power aren’t going to be able to assume that any large fraction of the US population would buy into such a scenario and let them get away with it.
