It’s pretty clear at this point that Trump is not going to participate in any debates in 2020, and yet his followers will see this as a sign of strength and not the sign of an idiot realizing the limits of his limited capacity.

We already know that people don’t actually care about substance when they watch debates. Trump technically ‘lost’ all three debates to Clinton, but it didn’t hurt his standing. People think that we’re going to defeat Trump and Trumpism with epistemology, and that’s a dangerously misguided assumption. Trump will use the ‘debate’ to show off his aggression, in the same way that the alpha chimp flings shit and shakes trees.
Yeah, if he wrote them, a normal human being probably couldn’t parse them for meaning, giving him another much-needed advantage.

You need only look at how Trump handles the press to see that his democratic challenger will need to bring their A game to the table. If the democratic contender drank the “Russia Kool-Aid” they’re finished, he’s going to murder them.

Trump is a master at deflected anything real that is asked and pivoting him back to what he wants he wants to say. Which will probably be some variant of ‘Lock her up!!!’ It will be difficult to counter back to message and not become flustered, especially if the crowd starts chanting.
The Trump administration is going to allow banks to count loans to build sports stadiums as aid to the poor under the Community Reinvestment Act, allowing them to take a generous tax break.
