He (Mark Green) is whining that he was a victim of being unfairly held to account for his own past statements… Oh horror!
Yes, one of his “wisdoms” was that sickness was a main avenue leading to Jesus and that relying on government for healthcare limited the Church’s role and ability to evangelize.
The White House put out an official statement Friday suggesting that funding for historically black colleges and block grants for Native America housing are unconstitutional.
Much like it was in Mother Teresa’s world. Sickness and pain, in their (and the general RCC’s) view, is an opportunity to suffer for Christ. Which, to normal people, sounds absurd and cruel.
Remember when Clinton got in trouble for “pay to play”. I’m sure we’ll be hearing Republicans have similar apoplectic responses to this much more brazen pay to play:
Nicole Kushner Meyer, the sister of White House adviser and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, spoke at an event in Beijing on Saturday. She was marketing a Kushner-owned property in New Jersey – invest in the development and get into the United States on a so-called EB-5 visa.
The EB-5 visa allows immigrants a path to a green card if they invest more than $500,000 in a project that creates jobs in the United States.
An ad for the event, held at a Ritz-Carlton hotel, said “Invest $500,000 and immigrate to the United States.” *
Again, what is wrong with that exactly? It satisfies the requirements for EB-5, apparently. Does it matter who owns the property for the EB-5 purposes?
I still don’t understand. Are you objecting to Kushner’s sister doing business in general? Or is it only if she does business in China? What if it was Japan? Russia? Germany? Elbonia?
How exactly does it benefit a Chinese investor to invest the qualifying amount into Kushner’s sister’s property as opposed to someone else’s? If it qualifies the investor for the visa, it qualifies him and he gets the visa he wants.
