The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

“Give money to the President’s family and we’ll let you emigrate to the US” is totally on the up and up. I’d say translate it to Latin and make it your country’s new motto, but I don’t think it would fit on a coin.

Mostly it’s using the office of the presidency to sell citizenship that’s objectionable.

It would fit because the coin would be YUUUGE.

They are not allowed to immigrate into the US based on “President’s family” but based on the law that covers EB-5 visas. That law existed before Trump and will exist after him. Neither Trump nor his family were involved in passing or extending this law. The law has existed for 27 years so far.

Then they should be proud of their efforts. Strange that they seem to know what they’re doing is wrong.

*Journalists were initially seated at the back of the ballroom, but as the presentations got underway, a public-relations representative asked The Washington Post to leave, saying the presence of foreign reporters threatened the “stability” of the event.

At one point, organizers grabbed a reporter’s phone and backpack to try to force that person to leave. Later, as investors started leaving the ballroom, organizers physically surrounded attendees to prevent them from giving interviews.

Asked why reporters were asked to leave, a PR person who declined to identify herself said simply, “This is not the story we want.”*

That’s not relevant. What’s relevant is an advisor to your buffoon of a president is using his position to enrich his family. If you’re old enough to use a computer but don’t grasp this yet, I doubt anything I say will make you understand.

Again, don’t see anything wrong with that. You still didn’t answer the question - do you object to Kushner’s sister doing business in general or just in some particulars? Is she only allowed to seek domestic investment in her business, in your opinion?

How? What exactly are the mechanics of this “using his position”?

Someone invests in Kushner business, qualifies for EB-5 and gets the visa? How is that different from someone investing in a non-Kushner business, qualifying and getting the same visa?

He’s only pretending to not understand.

One would hope.

Don’t know. Anyone in a position to tell me was booted from the event because “it’s not the story they want”. But if you think I’m going to assume anyone in the Trump White House would refrain from using their position for personal gain, you are mistaken.

The plaintive cry of a conspiracy theorist.

At least you’re honest. Others here try to imply that they know (but apparently aren’t telling).

Yeah, you can stick that where the sun shineth not, O supporter of birthers.

Someone sells gaudy jewelry while being interviewed during a television interview? How is that ethically wrong?

I see you had no answer to my question.

No. I answered it. And you understood the answer.

No, you didn’t. You cited someone employed by the administration promoting a product. The post in question talked about someone not employed by the administration promoting her own business. Apples vs. oranges. And you know it.

Its not that I would be pleased that someone who rented a US visa by investing in Trump family holdings was captured after committing some dastardly crime. I want them captured while plotting some dastardly crime.

Still, its impressive how quickly the Chinese succumbed to Trump’s personal magnetism after his stern scolding about currency shenanigans. He sure showed them a thing or two! Hoo doggies!

She’s an in-law of the President. A relative by marriage. If Chelsea Clinton’s sister-in-law had promoted herself in China, the Republicans would have been all over it. Your wide-eyed-raised-eyebrows “I don’t get it” act isn’t the least bit credible. I’d say “nice try,” but it isn’t even a very good act.

I asked this question several times, with no answer by any objectors: do you object to Kushner’s sister doing business in general or just in some particulars? Is she only allowed to seek domestic investment in her business, in your opinion?
