Or more specifically, rationalization. People were told that Trump was incompetent. If they now admit it’s true, they’re also admitting they were as stupid as everyone said they were for not seeing it earlier. So they have to keep believing in Trump or admit they were stupid to have ever believed in Trump.

I saw that mentioned somewhere, so I found a video clip of it on twitter. One of the comments, by one “ChilliJon” was an interesting idea. He suggested that Bloomberg should hire Fauci just to hold daily press conferences, and provide him with a real studio and all the necessary resources to do so.
Well, like the rest of us, it’s a new situation for him. He can’t appoint a toady virus as ‘acting’ disease or take Covid-19 to court so his battery of lawyers can wear it down with legal expenses, or refuse to pay the bill it presents.
The reporters need to keep prodding him with sticks making him devolve even further into the shit-flinging gibbon he’s kept hidden until now. They need to keep reporting that the emperor has no clothes.
Well, you know, they say that touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your face is how you get/spread the foxtrump virus, so clearly the ShitGibbon will be forced to blame Fauci for causing the pandemic.

However, hasn’t he always been more or less a shit-flinging gibbon? Possibly a little more so, lately, with reporters starting to call him on it. Sure, his base will take it as “oooo nasty librul press”, but, as I think it was asahi who said, that 5% - 10% is really democracy’s only fucking chance, (let’s not kid ourselves), so hopefully that bunch will see Don further devolving into a foaming-at-the-mouth flailing toddler who can only resort to increasingly incoherent interruptions, now, when dealing with those oooo nasty reporters.
