What about toilet paper? Is that just an American panic buy? I wonder if there has been such a panic hoard elsewhere. Someone (lots of someones) bought all of the fucking toilet paper. And I needed to buy some. Not a hoard thing, I just needed some. What the fuck.

At some point, there is going to be a lot of toilet paper available. The local news had a story about a TP plant in Florida(?) that is starting to run extra shifts (I think they’re moving from 8 hours a day to 16 and possibly around the clock).
Since the actual amount of TP used in the US presumably hasn’t increased by much (if at all), at some point there is going to be a glut.
Yep. I went to CostCo the other day and they had heaps of their usual big 30-roll packages of Charmin. They also had a sign listing toilet paper, along with a half-dozen other items (hand sanitizer, rice, paper towels, others I can’t remember), that were not allowed to be returned. Make people pay (literally) for their panic buying.

Definitely in Australia too. I’ve seen very little in the past weeks - and that was just the large, institutional rolls, just yesterday.
It’s all over the place. It was a big deal in Australia, and it’s been an issue here in Canada.

I am sooo looking forward to the general election, when all the PACs start running anti-Trump ads highlighting all the lies, greed, mismanagement, and general incompetence of this administration over the last four years. I think this ad is just a tiny taste of what’s to come. Trump is going to fucking go nuts.

It’s yet another attempt to portray this as a “foreign virus” brought in by “foreign people” rather than admit that it is HERE and it’s being spread by Americans in American communities. It’s not an import. We’re now growing our own virus crop. Actually, we’ve been growing it since February but the Trumpists didn’t want to see it then and still don’t want to see it.
