The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

No Democrats were invited to Individual 1’s signing of the stimulus bill.

I’m gobsmacked. This is completely out of character. He’s been entirely co-operative to date with every investigation.

Good. Did you see how crowded together they were? And he handed over pens directly.

*Not *the behaviour we want to see modeled. Plus, maybe we’ll get lucky …

Here’s what gobsmacked me: I thought Congress was going to create an oversight board to watch over the corporate bail-outs, and maybe another board to make the recommendations for who to bail out. (And maybe all that is true?)

But then they went and created this new Inspector General and, wait for it,

… made it a position to be nominated by Trump and confirmed by the Senate :smack:

So. Trump doesn’t need no steenkin “signing statement” here. All he has to do is appoint a crony to the position, which the Senate will readily confirm. Or maybe even name an “acting” IG and skip the Senate confirmation.

You know he will.

ABC News John Santucci:
“During marathon day of meetings earlier this week, President Trump continued outreach across the country regarding coronavirus & phoned former Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez.”

Gosh, just how does Jared find the time?

No. Hoover may have been somewhat misguided I. His efforts to address the economic collapse, but ultimately he was not an utterly fetid piece of ferret shit.

And Hoover has a most excellent monstrous statue of Isis outside his museum.

As you may have heard, Dear Leader has announced that he is looking into an “enforceable” quarantine of parts of NY, NJ, and CT. Aside from the issue of whether he actually has the power to do this, and ignoring the potential stampede of people trying to get out of the affected areas before the quarantine goes into effect, the governors of the states involved all apparently say that they were not given any indication that such a plan was in the works before Trump’s public announcement.

Yeah, totally surprising behavior from the White House, I know.

Why issue a quarantine now when Dear Leader has assured us that everything will be back to normal by Easter? Besides, the virus is supposed to go away on it’s own in April.

Trump’s Easter Miracle!

^ Seconded.

This, as well.

A federal quarantine at this point is like closing the barn door when the horse is already dead, right?

Because it’s nothing to do with the virus. Obviously the virus is all over the nation at this point. Walling off NY, NJ and CT has no medical rationale whatsoever.

What it’s about is letting states (and cities and counties) know that failure to A) vote for Trump, and B) kiss Trump’s ass sufficiently passionately, will result in harassment from the federal government, you betcha.

It’s a power move. It’s nothing to do with health issues.

Go away? I thought the Itsy Bitsy Bits Orange thought the virus is a hoax?

That’s spot on. And the Itsy Bitsy Bits Orange probably still does think the virus is a hoax.

Dr. Fauci explains to Individual-ONE why it would not be a good idea to hold a parade to celebrate the grate job he is doing fighting this virus thingie (Andy Borowitz)

California received 170 broken ventilators from the national stockpile. Sure it was just a coincidence that they got so many broken ones. Luckily, they will be fixed but still, I’m sure it had nothing to do with the state being a safe Democratic win in November.

…and he’s already changed his mind again.

I eagerly look forward to tomorrow when he announces that he’s sending Snake Plissken into Trump Tower to rescue Barron, then wanders off without signing the bill in front of him and starts rage-tweeting about Kathy Griffin.

A sign of the times…didn’t realize that was satire until after I finished the article.

Itsy what what?
