The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Just pay attention to the news, they will answer that question for you. Typically on a weekly basis, but sometimes more often.

At least they didn’t name one for Forrest!

Stealing.

Uh yeah. Ditto.

Dupe.

Not necessarily.

While it’s certainly true that he would have over two months left in his term if he lost the election, and would most likely pardon all his friends just for one last “Fuck You” to the country, he might win. And while winning the election would tell him that he can get away with anything… um…

Yeah, 100%.

Huh, I would have thought Fort Polk was named after James K Polk, (our eleventh president)

Still a problem. (Of course the real difficulty will be renaming everything named after Washington, and knocking down his monument.)

Get ready for a spike of COVID cases in Tulsa about two weeks after June 19.

Trump Will Return to Campaign Trail With Rally in Tulsa

Yeah, hand sanitizer. That’s the ticket!

Maybe they can find a venue that will make a crowd of 500 look like 50,000. Mirrored walls?

And just to add spice to the event:

This should go really well. :dubious:

That one surprised me too. It’s named after General Leonidas Polk of Louisiana, second cousin of the President. He was “remembered for … his general lack of success in combat.”

There’s also Fort Jackson in South Carolina. It’s supposedly named after Andrew Jackson, which I’ll admit is plausible. But you have to wonder if some southern general winked when he announced the name in 1917.

It is baffling to me, as a foreigner… Why on earth would the US name army bases after loser traitors?

Because people think that traitors to the US should be honored. Because they are morons.

Because the loser traitors were very serious about denying equal human rights to black people, and a lot of the people who were naming the army bases nearly a century later were likewise in favor of that cause.

So he thinks the History of the US Military Winning should be celebrated with bases named for losers?

Why not? Probably 70% of the entire phenomenon of Trumpism is fundamentally about losers deriving an illusoory sense of winning from gratuitously mistreating other people. Why should their choice of commemorative nomenclature be any different?

All of the bases are in states of the former Confederacy. Most were established during WWII, although a few date back to WWI. The names were no doubt given due to pressure by the state governments or the states’ Congressional delegations, which still regarded them as heroes. This was also a period when the Ku Klux Klan had a great deal of political influence, not just in the South but also in the North.

I prefer Army bases named after generals who didn’t lose wars.

Nice.

I can’t wait for a video summary of his latest rally. I really want to see how brutal and dishonest it gets, but really can’t wait to see the spewing CTs coming out of his mouth. For the virus and civil rights, all Biden has to do is let him talk for a few weeks.

Free injectable Clorox syringes for all! Lysol cocktails and internal fluorescent light at the reception afterward!

ETA: And he’ll leave the City of Tulsa holding the bag for half-million $$$ in unpaid security and police overtime expenses too.
