Trump, acting exactly like Nixon, pressured other intelligence agencies to push back on the FBI.
This is the most cringing, embarrassing, stupendously bizarre person I’ve even known in politics - this stuff in Isreal about brokering peace when he has no ideas, no strategy, no experience, no clue whatsoever … it’s just a guy standing in front of a microphone talking utter shit and totally convinced the world believes in his abilities.
Trump is delusioned in the same way Idi Amin was, or Robert Mugabe is now. He thinks people clap because he’s the deal maker, the guy who gets things done.
It’s utterly mad.
This is potentially huge because if there’s one contemporaneous memo from these two sources, as the WaPo source claims, then this would be contemporaneous memos from two different sources in two different agencies saying almost essentially the same thing. And if two of these agencies produced contemporaneous memos, then that’s even more damning.
Assuming congressional and independent investigators are doing their due diligence, then if these memos do end up all seeing the light of day, we’re almost incontrovertibly getting into obstruction of justice territory here, and it would lead directly to the President himself.
Trump already bragged on national TV that he was committing obstruction of justice! During the campaign he also requested a a nation commit espionage against the US, so what do I know about what’s appropriate.
applause!
The crazy thing about this whole Russia shit is that I’m not entirely convinced that Trump himself is directly connected to it. It’s obvious that others around him absolutely are and I’m sure he found out about it after the fact, but his campaign aides probably saw it as their patriotic duty to keep him in the dark while doing his dirty work, a la CREEP, a la Ollie North.
Sometimes, we should not take Trump seriously or literally. Sometimes, we should take Trump seriously, but not literally. Sometimes, we should take Trump literally, but not seriously.
This is exactly one of those sometimes.
Was he sniffing all the way through the speech, like in the debates?
Not speed. Coke.
Oh, and, two days into his first trip, he’s “exhausted”. Tell us more about Hillary’s stamina.
Fantastic post. A keeper – seriously.
Could just be the time zones messing with his circadian rhythms. The man is 70 after all and pretty out of shape, golfing notwithstanding. Come to think of it, Trump may not need to be impeached after all. Me might just die of a heart attack after all that KFC and pizza.
Bold added.
Okay, I get it. Trump is tired because he has just awakened from a 17-year period of hibernation? Makes sense. You said cicadian rhythm, right? I recognize the beady eyes.
And the very loud, annoying noise he makes.
And his ill-fitted exoskeleton.
Yes, of course! Silly me.
I didn’t mean any criticism of you. Just using your phrase to make an anti-Ronnie comment, re: right-wingers in the U.S. think the Berlin Wall came down because he yelled at it, but folks in Yurrip know it ain’t necessarily so.
Think of it as an aside. I keep up JUST FINE, missy!
Golly, this thread is moving fast.
I’m hoping that it didn’t come from Israel, but that they’ve agreed to accept the attribution to help muddy things. It’s not like Trump would know otherwise.
Saudis are pressuring the administration that they just gave billions of dollars to, to oppose a bill to allows 9/11 victims’ families to sue Saudi Arabia.
Turkey called in the US ambassador to complain about how their poor, misunderstood bodyguards were mistreated by US policemen as the bodyguards beat protesters in Washington DC the other.
Man, that takes balls!
Big glowing glass Saudi balls adorned with tiny Trump handprints
I’m not going to make too much of this, but he has looked rather ill in the TV coverage I’ve seen over the past 48 hours, and his speech hasn’t had that trademark braying tone.
