b) been told directly by Trump ‘if you don’t hear it from me, don’t say it’
c) after following (b) still having (a) happen.
Few minds have changed, have they? “We *had *to get Saddam” etc. is the rationalization.
Or most of the plausible candidates said something mean about him once so fuhgeddaboutit. If he had the chance, he’d humiliate them in person, like Christie or Romney, but now the word is out.
This comports with my experience: Republicans shun them both. They don’t want to talk about Bush/Cheney because they have nothing good to say and they don’t want to have to defend those 8 years either.
Not all disapproval has to take the form of vigorous, public yelling.
Off topic, but I haven’t heard Priebus’s name in a month or so. Did he actually manage to extricate his name from front lines of the Trumptanic? Or more likely did he finally snap and run around naked and raving until he was chained in the attic?
