This business about firing the Special Counsel will put the whole impeachment into warp speed. I predict he will do it (perhaps by firing Rosenstein first as Nixon did (twice) because he simply does not think he is bound by any law or conventional behavior.
Apparently Trump is already considering firing Mueller. Luckily Trump is too stupid to understand that he technically can’t fire him, but someone will explain to him how to indirectly fire him. Just keep firing the head AG until you find a patsy willing to do your bidding.
Which sucks, because I am looking forward to the Mueller investigation more than impeachment. Mueller would likely turn up a lot of criminal behavior by Trump, his family and his inner circle. Plus Mueller has the power to prosecute. I’d take that over impeachment any day.
Jeff Sessions joined in the praise of Trump as well. I don’t know how to read that in advance of his testimony tomorrow. Is it a signal that he’s going to back up Trump fully tomorrow? Or did Trump stage this so that he can undermine Sessions if Sessions doesn’t fully support him? “Just yesterday he said I was wonderful, and now he’s saying these very unfair things! You can’t trust this guy! What a nut job!”

You realize, of course, that if this administration continues to be the debacle it is, that Trump will quickly be painted with the RINO brush and all his complete failures will be because he wasn’t a “true” conservative. Hell, in a few years, he’ll be called a closet liberal, the Democrats will be to blame, and the Republican base will lap it up and conveniently forget how he was aided and abetted by the Republicans in power now.
