The fun part is that you can swap out the picture of the man in the pink hat with one of Donald Trump and it still works.
News reports this morning that Trump is considering firing Bob Mueller. Trump is awful for this country, but the slow motion train wreck of his administration is a wonder to behold.
I dispute the slow motion part. This is going much faster than Watergate. Will Melania even be unpacked before it’s off to either NY or Leavenworth?
No, the default response should be no response.
Everybody knows you never go full Nixon.
No sane person would think that ordering his lackeys to sing his praises would reflect well on himself.
So now, apparently, Trump is going to Miami to announce that he’s rolling back some aspects of our new improved relationship with Cuba.
This is what pisses me off the most (OK, it’s in a 12-way tie for first place) about Republicans: the secret agenda.
Did anyone campaign on worsened relations with Cuba? Rolling back Dodd-Frank? Shrinking national monuments? Shooting hibernating bears from helicopters? Hell, no. How do they get away with this shit?
So long as Trump’s screwing over, or at least attempting to screw over, the targets of their prejudice, his supporters will sing his praises in two part harmony.
Wise, but frustrating. I’m reminded of the scene from Swimming to Cambodia where Spaulding Gray has to deal with annoying neighbors: https://youtu.be/QI4NvgpjXYo
Not sure about Cuba or the other stuff, but I remember repealing Dodd-Frank being a campaign promise of Trump’s. As muddled as his other promises, but he did say it. Cf:

Even worse than that - does anyone want that? Is there a huge pent-up demand to shoot hibernating bears? Do the majority of Americans think there are too many National Monuments? Where do these ideas even come from?
That’s what the Ignore List is for.
Extremely rich and out-of-touch men whose wealth comes from generations before them rather than hard or brilliant work.
You’d think Donnie Trump
Would have had enough
Of silly Muslim bans
I look around me and I see it isn’t so
Some people wanna fill the world
With silly Muslim bans
And what’s wrong with that?
He’s forgetting
'cause here he goes again
He hates you, he hates you
US constitution!
I can’t explain, bigotry’s plain to see;
Can’t you see?
Ah, he tried once more more,
Tweeting all the night long, can’t you see?
What’s wrong with that?
He needs to know
'cause here he goes again
Hating costitution!
Bans don’t come in a minute
Sometimes bans don’t come at all
I only know that when courts review
Bans aren’t legal, Muslim bans no good,
Muslim bans not good at all
How can I tell you about bigotry?
How can I tell you about all his lies?
How can I tell you about his falsehoods?
(Trump hates you)
How can I tell you about corruption?
(He hates you)
Trump loves Putin’s money
He hates you, lies to you
(I can’t believe so much corruption, it’s sad can’t you see?
ah he lied again to the appeals court, it’s bad can’t you see)
(repeat 3 more times)
You’d think Donnie Trump
Would have had enough
of silly Muslim bans
I look around me and I see it isn’t so, oh no
The pres’dent wants to fill the world with much prejudice
Everything’s wrong with that!
Regardless of one’s feelings about Mexicans and Muslims, there’s something everybody (except Wall St and their Republican lackeys) can agree on: nobody wants another Great Recession. Congress didn’t seem to get the memo.
Trump campaigned on a platform of ‘everything Obama did needs to be undone’ - as well as “if a democrat likes it , well, I hates it”.
If anything falls into those two categories - its going to suffer.
Imagine how much worse Trumps situation would be without the Obama economy. Everyone knows there is a supply-side train wreck coming…it’s a matter of when, not if.
Give my regards to Ploschad Revolyutsii.
