It goes something like – this lawyer was initially denied a visa but then granted one (apparently by Obama and Lynch personally or something…). It seems to me that the visa was not controversial, she needed to defend a client in an asset forfeiture case in court in NY. But then she overstayed the visa.
So I guess the new angle is young naive Don Jr (fercrissakes the man is 39, not 19) was scammed by an illegal immigrant that Obama allowed into the country.
I think this angle will backfire, i don’t see how attacking the trustworthiness of the person they met with will help them. But they’ve proven themselves to be idiots. And shortsighted idiots, at that.
And as a hijack, if you want some good background on Magnitsky in particular and modern Russia in general, I suggest that you read Red Notice by the oft-cited Bill Browder.
This book is one of about a dozen books that was instrumental in shaping my worldview and it is a must read for anyone that thinks Putin is anything other than a master criminal.
If it’s the site I’m thinking of – “Lost All Hope” – every method’s page also provides a link to personal testimony about why suicide is a bad idea and resources for people that need help. It’s also very informative about other negatives related to suicide methods: what the people who find the body will see, what the chances of failure are, etc.
(I’m sure there are other top hits that don’t provide that kind of stuff, but I think it is great that a person who nearly killed themself created a page, and that it shows up high in the Google rankings. People in crisis are much more likely to click a link with information than something that’s obviously just going to preach at them.)
Fair enough. It was that site. I couldn’t get to it past the filter I’m behind at the moment, so I only saw a bit of it. I shouldn’t have assumed it was entirely pro-suicide. My bad.
The guy’s a Republican, he didn’t kill himself out of remorse for his actions during the election. He killed himself because he was at the Mayo Clinic and was dying.
I’m going to give it to him that this was a suicide. The man was 81, in poor health and obviously subjected to a lot of stress over the last year by being part of all this crap.
After all, Roger Ailes died at 77 after being ousted from his network and being subject to a lot of lawsuits. That’s a lot of stress. I don’t think anyone thinks he was killed.
FTR, I was just kidding about the Vince Foster style conspiracy theory. Barring any other developments, I’m assuming he committed suicide because he was very sick.
You joke, but I have seriously considered that the Republicans use him to test their talking points to see which ones have traction and which ones we just point and laugh at.
