The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Just figured I’d take this opportunity, 170 pages later, to give props to the OP. From “clusterfuck in the making” to clusterfuck.

Ever the prescient one, OP.

Assistant press secretary Michael Short has “resigned”.

I fear this is just the beginning, this cluster has just begun the fuckening process…

In dog years, after 6 months, Trump is at 3 1/2 years-- almost the end of his first AND ONLY term. YAY!

Thank you. You’re very kind. I’m sorry to have been so prescient. :frowning:

When I read about the Boy Scout speech, I started wondering (and I’m interested in others’ opinions) if Trump has gone off the rails in exactly the direction we doomsayers expected. I mean, we knew he would be bad, but is he bad in the way we thought he would be? Have there been any surprises?

There were those (I was never one) who thought he would eventually settle down and start acting “Presidential,” but not only has that not happened, he’s gotten much worse, to wit, the Boy Scout speech.

I’m surprised that he’s such a total boor, klutz, embarrassment in ordinary social situations where most 12-year old boys know how to conduct themselves. FFS, the man can’t shake hands like a grown-up. I’m surprised at how book-learned IGNORANT he is. Frederick Douglass? The French as historic allies?? I’m surprised at the fact that, although he is fixated on image, he seems completely unaware that his public persona, displayed EVERY DAY on Twitter, is a tantrum-throwing 2-year old. Also, I absolutely cannot wrap my brain around how much he lies! He seems incapable of speaking a word of truth. Ever. To sum up, he has turned out to be a much worse human being and a much worse President than I ever imagined.

However, he has done less damage as President (so far) than a smarter man would have by now, simply because he doesn’t have one molecule of awareness about how government works, and doesn’t care. And because he thrives on chaos, conflict, and infighting, and so constantly sabotages himself. Which goes to the title of the thread-- he has created a clusterfuck of a presidency out of his own colossal stupidity. I guess we’ve found the one thing he’s good at.

Indeed. There hasn’t been a president this bad since the Middle Ages!

To be fair, predicting this administration would be a clusterfuck is like getting the trifecta on a race where there are only 3 horses, one is lame, and one is dead.

In related news, Scary Moochy threatens to fire the entire White House staff (what, even the chefs? Is Trump going to have to order take out pizza?)

If Trump goes, the GOP gets Pence whom they’d probably be much happier with. The down-side is anti-GOP sentiment would grow if they dragged the country through an impeachment fight.

The interesting case is where Trump somehow defects to the Democrats, though resignation is MUCH more likely.

Eeek! (I guess Chao is excluded by 3 U.S. Code § 19 (e).)

As I say, they won’t impeach — they’ll arrange a resignation.

Trump and team have no shame at all.

I admit, I underestimated just how bad he’d be. I kinda suspected he’d be all over the place but the complex, adversarial environment of Washington has brought out the absolute worst in him. I knew he’d be bad, but I was kinda hoping the Republicans wouldn’t enable him to quite this extent. Hell Trump is thrashing Beauregard Sessions like Kunta Kinte and all of Sessions’ former GOP colleagues are just kinda standing around and taking in the spectacle.

The Russian hoors in the Roosevelt Room beg to differ.

The only thing for me which stands out is he’s farther gone from his cognitive prime than I realized. Whether that’s beyond his control or more due to sitting in front of the tv, poor diet, lack of sleep and other habits, who knows.

There have been no surprises in regard to his behavior. He has acted precisely the same since he’s come to public notice. He is a famous asshole. He revels in it. What the fucking fuck did people think was going to happen? I keep asking this question, to myself and aloud, and effing stymied. I mean, if someone voted for Trump because he hates who they hate, well, whaddayagonnado? I mean, I can wrap my brain around that reasoning but you show me someone who thought, “I’m sure he’ll act more presidential once he’s in,” and I’ll show you a blithering moron.

The surprises have been in the specifics of what he has been fucking up. Who knew he’d attack his own AG? Who knew he’d hire Tony “Big Shoulders” Scaramucci out of Soprano’s central casting as his communications director? Who knew he’d fire the director of the FBI and try to pass it off as a gesture toward Clinton? It’s not how the asshole acts that surprises; it’s what the asshole does with his assholery never ceases to shock.

and that OTHER assholes still support him, no matter WHAT he does.

I can’t wait for his Girl Scout speech.

That’s the part that gets me.

Isn’t it OBVIOUS how bad he is? Can’t everyone see it?

No speech. He’ll just make cupping motions with his tiny hands.

The clusterfuck is getting clusterfucked. It’s like a Moebius strip of clusterfuckery.

He’ll probably tell them he’ll be dating some of them in a few years.

The only thing I can figure, is that the assholes that still support him are jealous because if they let their true assholism show, they really would be kicked to the curb.

They approve and are living vicariously.

The Right wouldn’t tolerate him appearing before the Girl Scouts, they support … abortion. And Muslims. And gay rights.
