Anybody notice that almost all political talk has moved out of Elections, with most of it here (+ a smattering of threads in GD)? Elections is now pretty much a ghost town.
The Mod Posse chased us out. There was rush of threads prime for mining over there and they all got rustled over here.

I never liked Schwarzenegger as a politician, but if I could choose, I’d rather see him in the Oval Office than Professor Poopypants.
Not only did he use the occasion to brag about himself and insult Schwarzenegger. He then urged Christians to pray for better ratings. Pray for ratings for a TV show. Is that what being a good Christian is these days? 
Prosperity Theology isn’t exactly gospel, either.
I’ll admit, while I voted for Hillary, I initially wasn’t extremely worried about the threat of a Trump presidency. Here’s why: His ego.
I really thought that, if he was elected, Trump’s ego would not want him to be reflected on as one of the worst Presidents in history. Now, by no means did I think he’d undergo some sort of 80’s-movie “training montage” and quickly become the Best. President. Ever. But, I really thought that he’d realize he needed to temper his views to become more moderate and reasonable.
I didn’t take into account two things - his capacity for self-denial, and that he would surround himself with some of the worst people to grace this planet. So long as they have his ear, they can reassure Trump that, regardless of what the media or other prominent figures say, the people love him and they can push their agendas on him, claiming that it’s what the people want.
I had the foolish belief that, as a businessman, he’d delegate most, if not all duties, to other parties. I was terrified of a Pence shadow government, but I thought Trump would at least have a little control over him, so as not to be looked down upon poorly in the annals of history.
After these nominees, these executive orders, etc., I think the country’s best hope is to get Bannon out of there (I have no idea how) and get someone more reasonable to be in his inner circle. I think that’s the only way to make these 2, 4, or (god forbid) 8 years even remotely tolerable.
The Pentagon released a video they claimed the raid in Yemen procured showing the kind of information that they claim was taken. Except that video has been circulating for ten years now.
Oh, we’re going To War again. Well that didn’t take long.

I see that Trump is going to try to repeal Dodd-Frank. Hang on to your fucking retirement fund; we’re going to be heading right back into the toilet if he succeeds.
