I find transliterated Russian to be ugly no matter what you do. And hard to read. Mostly, that “ahni” confused me – what is wrong with “oni” (still ugly, but more readable)?

Honestly, I’d call this a good thing. Sure, threatening complete and total annihilation sounds pretty bad, but this kind of clear line is absolutely necessary when it comes to nuclear weapons. There cannot be any fuzziness. There can be no, “Eh, who knows what we’ll do if you attack X and Y”, because that leads to ally Z getting attacked, and suddenly we’re defending Kuwait in a war nobody really wanted. There needs to be a clear line: “If you attack us or the following allies, and there will be a crater where your country used to be. We will absolutely defend these people.” This is how you prevent things from spiraling out of control. You draw a line in the sand and you stick to it.
This is also another step down the path to probably the only sustainable equilibrium in this situation that doesn’t end with massive loss of lives: a nuclear North Korea with absolutely no interest in using their nukes or their influence. A caged Rancor that we can’t really disarm, but which ain’t going anywhere anyways.
This was a smart move by the Trump administration, “(preventing) nuclear war 101” stuff. I approve, and so should everyone else.

On another site I wrote a very short open letter to him asking him to just haul off and punch Trump in the face with everything he had. Sure, he’d be tackled and arrested, and maybe serve a little jail time, but he’d be a national hero and likely pardoned by a future president.
As the Secret Service guys stand at attention and talk to each other on their sleeve mics:
“Well, there’s the third blow to the presidential nose. Initiating ‘We Really Should Do Something About This Soon’ Protocol in 10, 9, 8…”

It looksw like the Steele dossier has been making the rounds, and in addition to the gossip, rumors, etc. there may really be Trump piss tapes and Trump piss videos.
Paul Wood from The Spectator and BBC News, has claimed to have heard from two separate sources that Russia does in fact have kompromat on the President. Wood also goes on to state:
“There are, though, reports of witnesses in the hotel who corroborate Steele’s reporting. These include an American who’s said to have seen a row with the hotel security over whether the hookers would be allowed up to Trump’s suite. The dossier’s account of hookers in a Moscow hotel room was the subject of gossip among politicians and intelligence people for months before it was published.”
Wood then goes on to claim that the urination tape that the Russians allegedly have of Trump and several prostitutes, is not the only or most extreme tape in existence.
“Now claims are circulating of more tapes showing more extreme behavior. Expect these allegations to emerge in due course,” Wood continued.
the information in Steele’s report is also reported by “multiple intelligence sources” and “at least one East European intelligence service”. They report that there is “more than one tape, not just video, but audio as well, on more than one date, in more than one place, in both Moscow and St. Petersburg”.
He added that “the CIA believes it is credible that the Kremlin has such kompromat—or compromising material— on the next US commander in chief” and “a joint taskforce, which includes the CIA and the FBI, has been investigating allegations that the Russians may have sent money to Mr Trump’s organisation or his election campaign”.
Steele has given his sources for the dossier to the FBI in August 2017. That subsequent source confirmation may have provided the basis for the renewed interest in the recordings.
Basically, the Steele dossier alleges that in 2013 — when Trump was in Moscow to oversee the Miss Universe beauty pageant which he owned at the time — Trump rented the Presidential Suite at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow, a room that had previously been occupied by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Trump, according to the dossier, hired Russian prostitutes to urinate as he watched on the bed where the Obamas once slept, in order to “defile” the site of the Obamas’ visit.
The sleazy scene was secretly filmed by Russian intelligence agents who kept the suite under constant surveillance, and the video is now being held as possible blackmail material — known in Russian as kompromat — to use against Trump, the Steele dossier alleges.

And that he truly does hire the best of the best. Unfortunately, in this case it’s often “Best Fuckup” or “Best Idiot” or something like that. The point is that we have concentrated, weapons-grade stupidity happening at the Cabinet level; no mere pool of amateurs, however enthusiastic, can match the skill of true professionals.

I’ve always wondered if the Secret Service is normally in the Oval Offfice? Sure, they’re supposed to be tight-lipped, but I’m certain that a lot of what goes on in there is above their paygrade/classification level, so the COS or POTUS pretty regularly clears them out.
Then Kelly beats him, and denies it. Who’re you gonna believe? Particularly if he doesn’t leave any obvious marks?
