This is interesting. Assuming that Trump has a strategy, and is not just pinballing from one idea to the next (bear with me, here): it’s a really stupid strategy.
If he thinks he can broaden his appeal by pivoting to the left–it’s hopeless. Democrats and independents have written him off based on every other position he’s ever espoused and every other action he’s ever taken. So now he’s just pissing off his base.
An anti-Trump Super PAC has filed an ethics complaint against Sarah Huckabee for calling for the firing of Jemele Hill, citing the Hatch Act, which prevents employees of the Executive Branch from interfering with the employment of a person who works for a private entity.

The video of the kid burning his MAGA hat in the BBC link above is especially amusing as he places the flaming headwear on a glass table in his house. I imagine his parents will not be best pleased to see the inevitable scorch marks. His idiocy kind of sums up Trump supporters.

It’s like the Saudis putting his picture on a building, or the Poles busing in people paid to cheer for him: if you have a disaster for which you need funding, and you know Donald could bollix it up if he’s not well-entertained and flattered while visiting—then you make sure to order some child-size plastic gloves, to hand him while the cameras are rolling.
