Your claim also as you posted it as proof of what you claim the Mayor of San Juan is doing.
So far, you’ve failed to verify the translation or link to the original source of the translation.
And that’s pretty much an anonymous source.
Even crazy right wing loon Curt Schilling thinks the response in Puerto Rico is a disaster.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Remember when you were opposed to anonymous sources? HHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Man, this is like you forgetting that you were in favor of free speech.
You mean this?
"**“All have said that the president did everything in a pace that they’ve never seen before as far as him releasing money and releasing assets into these theaters,” Schilling said. “The execution on the ground has been horrifying in some cases.”
**
“I’m a student of military history. I’ve never seen anything like this,” he commented, adding that the southeast side of the island is totally destroyed. “There are towns that are gone.”
“I’ve seen the best and the worst of humanity in the last 48 to 72 hours, and it’s terrifying,” Schilling continued.
Schilling’s hurricane relief project, Operation Bullpen has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash.
President Trump will visit Puerto Rico and assess the destruction on Tuesday."
Note that most of the “execution on the ground” is by the PR politicians and government officials. They cannot distribute the aid they got. And some (the San Juan mayor mostly) are blaming Trump for that?
Here’s my confusion. Okrahoma posts a report from the mayor of Guaynabo stating that they are getting the help they need because s(he) met with FEMA, while San Juan is suffering because their mayor is grandstanding instead of meeting. However, he then posts a transcript from a police officer who states that he doesn’t have the help he desperately needs but he states that he is in Guaynabo. So maybe things are not as good in Guaynabo as the mayor says, and that mayor is the one letting people suffer for political purposes.
You sort of tripped all over yourself again, Okie. You aren’t the brightest tiki torch on the alt-right, I guess.
If your point is that the US government is dong a fine job in Puerto Rico this link doesn’t help your case.
Basically what the anonymous caller, reliable source that he is, is saying is that food water and relief supplies are piling up at the ports with no way to distribute it around the entire country and that the US government and FEMA is either neglecting that part of the relief plan completely or botching it horribly.
It would be kind of like if after Harvey they had driven truckloads of water to the Houston city limits and said “Here’s some food and water, come and get it”, then insulted the citizens of Houston because they couldn’t get across town to pick up supplies.
And the caller is frustrated that he can’t just take supplies but they really can’t just let anyone that can get to the docks carry away the supplies meant for a whole country. And you probably don’t want to give a truckload of precious supplies to anyone that shows up and claims he can drive a truck, either.
Now, both Yulan and Rosello seem like good sincere people to me. And there is no question that they have both suffered unfathomable loss in the past week. So it seems shitty to me to accuse them of corruption solely on the basis of one alleged anonymous You Tube video.
But say that, hypothetically, the US was conducting a disaster relief operation within its own borders and corrupt local officials were successfully intercepting and diverting all the relief supplies. Wouldnt this indicate a freaking massive incompetent FAILURE of the relief operation? It’s kind of the ultimate " the dog ate my homework" excuse.
But thanks for posting the link, it mentioned something I forgot to bring up. The caller was absolutely correct about Cuba and Venezuela offering assistance and being turned down. They did. But since Puerto Rico is US territory the offers went to the Trump administration in DC where they were either turned down or ignored. Trump was golfing, I guess.
I’m not sure what to make of the call to the radio station. A few points come to mind though.
The caller says she works for the Puerto Rico Police, but not that she is an officer. A minor point.
The video appears to be of a segment on WSKQ 97.9 “La Mega”, a station in New York City. By the clock on the radio, it looks like the time us about 10:18 AM. At this time on a week day, WSKQ is typically airing “El Vacilón de la Mañana”.
The show has been fined in the past for it’s on-air shenanigans.
This call may be totally above board, certainly. Or, it may not be. Caveat emptor, I guess.
So you’re saying that FEMA had one job and failed at it?
Did Trump’s administration not anticipate the need for fuel and vehicles? The need to clear roads or find alternate means of distribution?
Trump should keep his fat ass away from PR. The security bubble will interfere with operations.
You can’t have it both ways. Trump claims there are thousands of federal workers and military members in Puerto Rico handling the disaster. Make up your mind.
Regardless of whether or not you think the administration’s response to this hurricane is adequate or not, how on earth can anyone justify the president of the United States tweeting honest-to-goodness attacks against a mayor? A mayor from an American territory? The optics alone are neck-deep into shitstain territory. Plus he essentially called Puerto Ricans-- who don’t have water, electricity or homes in many cases, mind you-- lazy. I mean, “they want everything to be done for them”…that’s not quality leadership. It’s not even in the realm of “semi-decent human being.” At this point only trolls, racists and ignoramuses could possibly defend this type of behavior from Trump. Which one are you Okra? Or am I being naive thinking you’re only one of those?
Regardless of whether you think the mayor of San Juan is in the wrong, how can anyone possibly defend the most powerful person in the world tweeting attacks against her in the middle of recovery efforts, while he’s at a fucking golf course? Oh wait, I know: as long as we’re defending Mayor Cruz and arguing about translations and sources, we’re not focusing on what a worthless piece of shit Trump is. Plus you get to continue jacking yourself while reading the responses to your trolling.
Yer doin’ a heck of a job, Brocky.
You’d think police in Puerto Rico would have more important things to do at the moment than to call a radio station 1,500 miles away. Are the international phone lines from Puerto Rico even working right now?
We should have fucking invaded. Pretend Grenada was on the march, gonna seize Puerto Rico, whatever, Just do it! They should have been getting ready to go when they didn’t know PR was gonna get hit so bad, because sure as shit somebody was! Somebody was gonna need help and lots of it!
And now we have to be reminded they are citizens, that these are our people. What, if they weren’t, we would have just shrugged and turned on the ball game? My country doesn’t do shit like that. Very often.
And I hear an implication that the San Juan mayor is being punished for disloyalty? Along with her whole damn city?! Not even Il Douche would…wait, let me think on that. Not so sure, anymore. I think they waited, I think they crossed their fingers and didn’t spend any money because they were afraid they would look foolish. Maybe it was even a good bet. But it wasn’t their ass they were betting.
Maybe this is what flushes him right to the toilet. But if one person dies who didn’t have to, it won’t be worth it.
Chef Jose Andres is in Puerto Rico cooking free meals for people. It doesn’t escape my memory that he backed out of a restaurant at the Trump hotel because of Trump’s attitude toward immigrants. Now he is putting his money where his mouth is. Time to go eat again at one of his restaurants (not exactly a hardship).
Sure, we had to get megatons of supplies to islands in the Pacific. But they weren’t islands surrounded by water.
Just saw this re-posted on Facebook by a relative:
Apparently, it’s from a fake account. So…
Talk to us, Okra.
That’s fucking low.
Tillerson was in North Korea working on solutions.
Trump’s response: “stop wasting your time”.
Of course it was on twitter.
Can someone please take his phone away?
Saw something similar elsewhere. If you can’t believe anonymous people on the internet, who can you believe?
