Not really.
So much for honor, duty or patriotism. Not important to the Republicans.
When it gets to the point that leaving him in office is doing more damage to the GOP than taking him out, he will be gone.
That’s not going to happen. Because a Republican party removing a Republican President from office is such a destructive action that nothing Trump will ever do comes close.
This would be the perfect time to redefine the GOP by showing they give a shit about the country and get rid of him. But I fear they are to craven to do so. And they can still line their pockets.
“Yes, he’s a fucking moron and a senile racist misogynist. But he’s OUR fucking moron and senile racist misogynist. And we always stick up for our own team.”
The Alabama senate race is between nutjob and a democrat. You really think that’s where they want to be? Because it is going to be repeated allover the place in 2018. The people who write the GOP checks have a coherent agenda, not just a knee-jerk cheerleading for one letter beside a name over another.
See above. Thermonuclear war, recession.
Is losing 50 years of social progress less destructive than having a Republican Congress removing a Republican President? Oh… It’s just destructive to the GOP. The rest of the country can suck eggs.
Nothing as destructive except leaving him in office if he continues to spearhead things toward a filibuster proof Dem majority in 2020.
Nah. They can remove him and then just say “He wasn’t REALLY a Republican…”.
Pence’s chief of staff floats ‘purge’ of anti-Trump Republicans to wealthy donors
Somethings happening.
Can’t say I recall this sort of thing.
Maybe someone who has been alive longer than me can recall a similar event?
Sometimes I watch Lou Dobbs on Fox Business News for shits and giggles. It’s fun to watch him attack pretty much every Republican in his rabid devotion to Trump. Tonight the banner was “Trump’s Strong Leadership”. Lou attacked Jared and Ivanka for sowing chaos, stated that Gary Cohn was not on the same page as Trump and needs to go, and that everyone is second guessing the tax plan which will just cause a repeat of the health care fiasco. I’m really not seeing the strong leadership part of all that.
I agree that Trump needs to go, preferably before he starts a nuclear war, but there’s an intermediate step between election and impeachment, and that’s having people in positions of power who recognize what a fucking moron he is, and work to mitigate the damage.
For Dobbs, “strong leadership” means “ejecting the Meskins from the US of A with an air cannon, or failing that, building a gigantic, impenetrable wall on the border.”
Is there any point at which “destroying” the republican party would be the best move? Is there anything Trump can do to make the party put country first? I personally would have drawn the line on destroying the democratic party at that tweet implying that Tillerson was wasting his time trying to avoid nuclear war via diplomatic means. But that’s just me.
Like for Nixon? We recovered when that cancer was removed. Trump’s taken us down so low, not having him around can only improve us.
Donald Trump is not a republican. He’s a Trumpian-- votes for himself and only himself.
As far as Mueller? His investigation? If anyone is indicted, there’s no jail, no fine and The Howling Yam will not be one of them. I can see our investigatior wheeling away a wheelbarrow full of money, keys dangling from the handle that fit the locks of a Moscow mansion.
I bet zero on whatever he reveals, follows, etc. Our government has had plenty on this douchebag since before he branded himself and ruined his own credit. Nothing happened. He was allowed to actually run in a presidential campaign. My bank overdrafts would be enough to oust me. No investigation is stopping the well-funded shithead.
Intelligent Republicans recognize that Trump is not Republican. If anything, he’s Imperialist. The man lost no time at all in proving that, what with his attempt to rule by fiat like Pharaoh (“So shall it be written; so shall it be done”) . Thankfully, the federal courts have reined him in on his unconstitutional nonsense.
Trump is currently displaying how out of touch he is, not only with decent people anywhere, but with the country as a whole. You might believe he got a mandate for that, but the numbers simply do not lie. The man lost the election he made such a big deal about before it happened, the popular election.
Given the state of the Republican party today, its destruction will be a net gain for the country and for the world.
Another net gain will be when you finally get banned for your blatant trolling.
Well, they’ll finally be right. Face it, that SOB got into office because certain areas of the country will never forgive the Democrats for two things: getting a Black man into the White House and running a wonan as the presidential candidate. Of course neither race nor gender is an indication of ability, but the bigots sure did vote on that basis. I forgot to mention that a majority in those areas are firmly convinced the Democrats got a Muslim into the Presidency and the won’t forgive that either.
