In the ongoing saga of Shitgibbon v. Constitution(warning:breitbart), DoJ lawyers are trying to argue that Shitgibbon is not Shitgibbon Inc., but the judge seem skeptical. The possibility exists that, in order to smother legal action, Shitgibbon may end up being forced to present his tax returns.
Look! I just painted myself into a corner - in an Oval Office!
Not surprised at the inevitable tax cuts but still fuckity-fuck double guckfuck…
Fucking assholes.
Who knows - maybe the GOP is starting to finally get what they’ve really been jonesin for, so now they might start to give less of a shit of That Guy.
ok not even a tin lining, there.
So we can’t call the Donald Trump vs Kim Jong-un nuclear standoff:
“Fat Man and Little Boy: Part 2” ?
Okay, am I the only one who thinks that the phrase “The dog can bark at the moon all night long, but it doesn’t become an issue until the moon barks back” is kind of muddled?
Fuck John Kelly. He goes on stage and defends the indefensible. How DARE that congresswoman listen in on the same phone conversation that he himself listened in on! Fuck you, hypocrite. Donald “bravely” made the calls? You mean after nearly two weeks of not even acknowledging their deaths? You were “stunned” that this same congresswoman made a speech at an FBI building dedication and took some credit and getting funding for it? You fucking whine about THAT on the same day your pinhead boss was giving himself a perfect grade for his pitiful handling of the Puerto Rico hurricane? You’re fucking outraged at a personal friend of a Gold Star family calling out your sexual predator boss for his hamfisted condolence call, yet you had no outrage for your draft-dodging boss attacking the Khan family last year? You want us to suck your dick because of your military service but you serve under a guy who dodged the draft using bone spurs in his heels as an excuse? Then you take questions from the press, but only those who know Gold Star families? If the Khans had been there, would you have taken their question about why your psychopathic boss savagely attacked them last year? Fuck you a thousand times over and I hope you enjoy wiping the ass of your toddler boss.
The only question is whether Kelly formally disgraced himself yesterday, or whether it officially happened when he took the job.
I called this before Trump even won the election. I knew Trump would make Bush 2.0 look like Abraham Lincoln.
I’ve said it before and will again; Bush was a bad President but he’s a normal human being, and he WANTED to be a good President. He wasn’t, but he genuinely wanted to help people. Bush sought the Presidency in the hopes of improving the United States of America and the lives of its citizens. He failed in that goal, but it was his goal. Trump sought the Presidency to make himself richer and more famous; the lives of the citizens of the USA are not of concern to him.
Since his Presidency ended, Bush has spent a lot of his energy continuing his work stopping AIDS in Africa, the “PEPFAR” program. (Coulda used a better acronym.) This has been a favorite cause of his since before he was elected. The program was continued by the Obama administration, to Bush’s great appreciation, and he kept working on it. It’s done a lot of good and saved millions of lives.
Naturally, Trump is committed to slashing finding for it, and I would guess that’s at least half the reason Bush is pissed off at him, but I challenge any Trumpist to look me in the eye and tell me Trump would EVER do something like Bush did; that he would ever expend more than the amount of energy it takes to drive a golf cart helping people in another country in desperate need. Hell, would he even think about something like that?
That Bush even ripped into Trump and his odious followers is a remarkable occurrence. Ex-Presidents have long remained outside of criticizing subsequent Presidents. Such blunt, formal rebuke would have been unthinkable before.
Now THIS is a good Pitting right here, y’all.
And who mocked John McCain for getting captured and tortured.
That’s what he said. This is what he did.
Nobody asked, but here’s my take on CondolenceGate. The takeaway is that it was another self-inflicted crisis of Trump’s own making, but mostly for what happened before and after, not during, the phone call.
Trump uses the press conference to take an unwarranted swipe at Obama. Of course. But now he’s painted himself into a corner, and has to make a phone call and act like he has empathy for another human being.
He asks Kelly what to say, and Kelly gives him good advice.
Trump gets on the phone and bungles it, because he’s a FuckingMoron who can’t put a coherent thought together without a teleprompter. Congresswoman Wilson is looking for something to hang him with, and seizes upon the “he knew what he was getting into” line. To my mind, it’s a stretch, but it’s the best she’s got.
But when attacked, Trump does what he always does: lashes back with claims of conspiracies, and he has “proof”.
And Congresswoman Wilson should fire whoever it was that told her to go on TV wearing a cowboy hat.
I don’t like hats, but that’s her thing. I believe it’s to honor her mother or grandmother or something.
Yes - presumably Trump didn’t make the call with the intention of hurting anyone’s feelings, but he’s such a bizarre and abnormal person that he wasn’t able to successfully console someone. Then, instead of just saying some politician boilerplate like “This was such a tragic circumstance for the family and it’s terrible that anything I said may have added to their burden,” he’s got to go on the attack because it’s inconceivable that he could have ever done anything inadequately or wrong.
It also turns out that Rep. Wilson actually does have proof that what she said at that 2015 FBI building opening doesn’t match up with what Gen. Kelly said about her.
It’s a STRETCH?! Really? To you “He knew what he signed up for” is an appropriate phrase for a condolence call to a grieving widow?
And, of course, “both sides do it” has to come into play here, so you’re going to assign some blame to the Congresswoman, who happened to have been a lifelong friend of the family.
The Bristol Stool Chartcan be very helpful when comparing Trump and his various cronies.
Trump, for example, is Type 7 – the shits. Specifically in Trump’s case, he has paradoxical diarrhea. He suffers from ongoing fecal impaction of his large intestine with Type 1 bullet stools produced by mis-led hyper-patriotic sycophants such as Kelly, who are so tightly wound in their mis-formed views that they compact everything they see and hear into super-dense fecal bullets. When the fluid in Trump’s small intestine builds up enough (typically by the middle of the night when the twit is twittering), the pressure gets too much and he fires a shit-storm out his ass with great force and determination.
I don’t know who in Trump’s staff translates the paradoxical diarrhea into English for posting to twitter, but that is immaterial. What is material (materially – viscerally – disgusting) is that anyone working directly for Trump is a walking, talking, piece of shit from one end or the other of the Bristol Stool Scale, who directly aids and abets Trump shiting on hundreds of millions of people.
I think this is a good take. I don’t even expect the president to call the families of every service member who is killed in action. During a major conflict, it would be impractical to do so, and even absent a major war, the POTUS is still a busy person. So the president has to make choices about who he calls and doesn’t. And I’ll be generous and agree that Trump got good advice from Kelly an then completely bungled it out of sheer stupidity rather than specific malice against the family. But the before- and after-call clusterfuck is really inexcusable. Where a normal person’s instinct would be to be humble and try to defuse the situation, Trump only knows how to attack and escalate. This is his entire life strategy. Counter-punch. Escalate until the other side gives up.
I also agree that Congresswoman Wilson’s hat is kind of goofy.
(bolding mine)
You’re back to this again, huh?
Someone predisposed to think ill of Trump (and in case my posting record isn’t clear, I count myself among them) will interpret his line as something callous and monstrously insensitive.
Someone predisposed favorably would interpret it in the sense that Kelly intended: the deceased was a hero who willingly gave his all in service to his country.
The fact that the statement could be interpreted either way, is what makes it a stretch. Seriously, so much garbage comes out of Trump’s mouth that is beyond ambiguity, we don’t need to cherry-pick.
This! A thousand times this.
Kelly and Mattis are not ‘the grown-ups’. They’re enablers and just as big shitheads as the shit Cheeto in Chief. Not one person who accepted an appointment to this clusterfuck administration is commendable or honorable or even tolerable.
Personally, I think that extends to the entire GOP that allowed this shitshow to happen, but maybe that’s just me.
