Bill Frist has certified that he is not in a persistent vegetative state.
OK, that settles it for me
I’d like a second opinion.
Calling Doctor Ben Carson
You misrepresented it, then. You have one guy claiming this. Then you have another guy pointing out exactly how that one guy is wrong. There is no such criteria–something I could have told you just as an amateur.
The criteria for a mental disorder is harm to self or others. There is nothing there about having to have some point where you crash. There is nothing there about success.
Imagine if there were. Then any abusive husband whose wife doesn’t leave him or report him and who has a great job would not have anger management problems. There would be nothing to treat. A CEO who hears voices in his head all the time would not have schizophrenia, even if he wished they would go away. A famous guy who raped children all the time but no one figured it out until he died would have nothing wrong with him.
Labeling things as disorders is done so that people can be treated. You can know how to deal with them. Knowing that Trump is narcissistic is vital to understanding how to treat him.
There’s actually a guide out there for how to deal with a narcissistic boss. Granted, I fucking hate it since it goes the capitulation route rather than the undermine everything route, but it exists. And it’s almost certainly what Trump’s advisors are following–knowingly or not. Inflate his ego, make him think any criticism is his own idea, and just act like you are always his best friend.
And then get out as quickly as possible before they inevitably hurt you.–Okay, so maybe they don’t seem to be following that part.
Putin gives Trump a couple of noogies.
In first under Trump, Russian jets buzzed a U.S. destroyer at close range.
Russia Deploys Missle, Violating Treaty and Challenging Trump.
I think Republicans in Congress are starting to stand up to him. True, they had to wait until the public perception was just right, but Trump’s troubles are starting to snowball, and I predict Republican politicians will jump on him like a pack of hyenas. Because they really want Pence in the office.
I liked the opening of this evening’s CBS Evening News. Scot Pelley said (I hope I can remember this correctly): “The shadow of Moscow is sticking to President Trump like something in a Russian novel.” I think it’s becoming clearer every day that Americans have elected an honest-to-god traitor for their president.
Man, I can’t believe Obama was still president just a month ago.
Yeah, he’s a traitor, but so what? He’s sticking it to those Muslims. That’s all his supporters care about, apparently.

We’re talking here about world war three. Ethics are great, but saving the world is more important.
Here are the symptoms again. You don’t have to be Doogie Howser to see a pattern.
DSM-5 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder include these features:
[ul]
[li]Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance[/li][li]Expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it[/li][li]Exaggerating your achievements and talents[/li][li]Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate[/li][li]Believing that you are superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people[/li][li]Requiring constant admiration[/li][li]Having a sense of entitlement[/li][li]Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance with your expectations[/li][li]Taking advantage of others to get what you want[/li][li]Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others[/li][li]Being envious of others and believing others envy you[/li][li]Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner[/li][/ul]
Holy fucking shit.
Is it just me, or is this latest sort of a big deal:
Several of Trump’s closest advisors had contacts with senior Russian government officials, including intelligence officials, both before and right after the election. This includes Flynn and Manafort, and others. US intelligence recorded these calls, as they were monitoring the Russians.
OK. So Trump KNEW that Flynn in particular was in contact with Russian government officials before the election, and right after the election. He KNEW THIS before the inauguration. He was TOLD THIS in a briefing by US security officials.
YET HE STILL MADE FLYNN THE NATIONAL FUCKING SECURITY ADVISOR. And then let Pence go out and lie about it.
WHAT.
THE.
HELL.
How is this defensible, by anyone, anytime, even if they do try to put party before country?
I think more than one person has Trumpy by the shorthairs, and he really honestly doesn’t know what to do. He’s highly concerned about his personal reputation, he has no idea how the federal government works, he has no clue about international relations. Therefore, he’s leaning on some wacky-fucking ducks to get him up to speed and lead him out of this, and he’s leaning on THEM because they’re the ones who are most-effectively stroking his terrified little mind and ego with the possibilities of being an historic “change maker.”
But there are so many crossed signals and conflicting bits of information coming out of this White House that it’s only a matter of time before this shit show explodes. He’s guilty as fuck, has the whole world looking at him, and he has no idea what to do. He might not have been behind this whole Russian thing, but he damn well knew about it. Bannon, Miller, Manafort, Flynn…this is one spectacular shit show. If this goes down the way I think, pray and hope it will, the name Trump will be mud for five generations.
To be fair, he probably wasn’t listening.
See Post #1288.
For fun, look at what’s happening in a one-party state:
Wow. The communists in China are doing a better job of running an administration than Trump and his cronies are. Agent Orange (and, as it turns out, sadly, “Agent” seems to be a pretty good title for him) has no loyalty other than to himself. “To thine own self be true” has a completely different meaning to him than it does to normal intelligent people. And, of course, Trump likely didn’t listen to the rest of the paragraph:
By the way, thanks to whoever it was who started calling the current joke occupying the White House “Agent Orange”.
Republican Rep. Chris Collins says his party’s members are silent over the resignation of Michael Flynnbecause they’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with their wives.
Hey, this just occurred to me. Trump can now add “Valentine’s Day Massacre” to his list of attacks. Yes, I know it was the day before, but “close enough for government work”, after all.
So, it turns out that upsetting people who can find your deepest darkest secrets, and people who can broadcast your deepest darkest secrets to the world, isn’t necessarily a smart idea.
Who knew?
This is the real story. Yes, we all knew Trump et al are arrogant – but they were so arrogant, and so out of their depth, that they thought they could fight the intelligence community and win. The NSA, CIA, FBI, whoever probably has incendiary, possibly criminal level stuff on Trump going back decades, but are just waiting for the right moment to use it. Trump was in the private sector and so was never scrutinized or vetted like a normal politician would be, under a constant spotlight most of their career. They, of course, don’t give a shit if he broke the law for some arcane real estate transaction 5 years ago, but they do want him compromised, to pin him against the wall at any time.
And I’m pretty aware of the tech behind hacking phones (with State resources it’s trivial, the chip manufacturers all build backdoors to facilitate this) and there’s almost no way Trumps phone isn’t compromised and broadcasting everything, all the time, to God knows where. Right now it’s probably only State actors – Russian, American, Chinese? – and they’re going to sit on that, too, and let it build. Why show your cards if you don’t have to?
The traitors here are the Obama holdouts and moles still in the admin that are leaking all sorts of info including top secret info.
That is of course highly illegal, not to mention treasonous and when they’re found out, they will have to pay for their crimes.
Dude, you’re delusional.
It’s the Grover Cleveland holdovers that are really behind the whole clusterfuck. Those dudes hate Trump, and they’re clever enough to lurk behind the scenes, so you know they’re good with intel. Plus, they have special powers of longevity.
