Unfortunately, her earlier choices have left her pretty much fucked now…there is no way, no matter how ‘good’ or honourable a person she is that she will come out of this unscathed. Plus, she looks like one of the most miserable people on the planet.

Marrying for money and/or power is as old as humanity. That was her choice, knowing that he cheated on his first wife with the woman who became his second wife.
I really have nothing good or bad to say about her other than that I have to think that if it was a happy marriage, she would be in the White House. Since she chose not to move there and take the traditional role of First Wife, we have reason to suspect that there is unhappiness there.

But, for me, it’s not about Melania herself. I don’t care if she did a naked photo shoot. Hell, i don’t care if she wants to do one while she’s First Lady.
And quite frankly, i also don’t really care one way or another about her decision to stay in New York, except as it affects the costs to the taxpayer in terms of security. The job of President is just that: the job of President. While the role of First Lady has taken on a life of its own, it’s not a requirement that the President’s spouse do unpaid work for the government. If she doesn’t want to shepherd dignitaries around the White House or play hostess at state dinners, that’s her prerogative, as far as i’m concerned.
For me, the only real relevance that Melania’s past has is that it shows up the brazen and vile and disgusting hypocrisy of many on the American right. Can you imagine the reaction if Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton had a past like that of Melania Trump? Can you imagine, for that matter, the reaction if Barack Obama had been a twice-divorced serial philanderer with multiple bankruptcies and a much younger wife who had posed nude for a magazine shoot?
Michelle Obama is an incredibly well-educated and intelligent and thoughtful person, and was a classy and dignified presence in the White House. Yet many of the people who seem to have no problem with Melania’s past spent plenty of time over the past eight years engaged in a barrage of hateful vitriol against Michelle Obama.
That’s the lesson of Melania. I don’t care about her own behavior very much; i’m more concerned about what the responses to her behavior tell us about the value of “values” in the Republican Party.

Ok just a question…I don’t have a history of doing political polls but the last you I’ve seen via this board, including the one posted by raventhief, they ask for donations at the end. Is that normal??? It really comes off as greedy to me…especially given the smug Trump face smiling at me while it asks for my money.
