I assumed the incident in question happened in the person’s home country. So not “not welcome back”, but “not welcome in”.

While I will definitely stop short of saying that anyone deserves to have a wife-beater inflicted on them, Hicks has been among Trump’s most dedicated, unconditional, unthinking, uncritical, no-matter-what supporters and cheerleaders from the beginning. Sort of like a female version of Don Jr, but not actually officially a family member. It’s hard to feel sympathy for her.
Yeah, Hope Hicks really is the town pump. But she needs something to clean the taste of Trump from her mouth.

As for Rob Porter, a third woman is reportedly coming forward, having contacted the two ex-wives:
Both Holderness and Willoughby were contacted by a woman claiming to be Porter’s girlfriend in 2016. In Facebook and text messages reviewed by CNN, the woman, described “repeated abuse” from Porter and sought help from the ex-wives on how to leave him.
“I work in politics, and despite Rob’s repeated abuse, some of which I think many know about, he continues to rise and I’m afraid to go against him,” the woman wrote to Holderness in December 2016. “I’m sorry to bother you. I wanted to reach out and hear your story if you are willing to share — as well as how you broke out of it with him and mostly, how you recovered.”
“Rob was abusive, degrading, a liar and a cheater and during the course of my relationship with him, I found out that he was to others, too,” the woman wrote to Willoughby in February 2016. “I am just searching for someone who might be able to relate to the hell I have gone through.”

You are correct. THIS will get people’s attention.
I think it looks like an ordinary correction, so far. In '08, we knew what was happening. The drop had some ugly shit behind it. Right now, there is no obvious source of instability. I doubt anyone is panicking just yet. But, of course, the drop of '08 was preceded by a peak, followed by some short, quick drops and weak rallies before the plunge. This shape kind of resembles that. But, unless there is pervasive decay underlying the economy that will lead to massive declines, this mostly just looks normal. The end of the quarter is 7+ weeks off: we shall see what happens when earnings reports go out.
