The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Why is he going after Amazon for a delivery deal the USPS concludes is profitable or it? Did Bezos decline to offer obeisance or a bribe or something?

Here’s why.

I’m an Amazon skeptic, at least in the sense that I question whether Amazon is good for a community, in much the same way that I questioned whether Wal-Mart was good for a community 10-20 years ago.

But Trump’s attacks are baseless. Of all the things he could truly critique Amazon for and of all the arguments that could actually resonate with America’s working class - like forcing employees at distribution centers to work unpaid as they go through the process of getting off their shift - he attacks their deal with the Postal Service, which actually helps the USPS as much as Amazon.

In addition to the naked graft up and down his administration, Donald Trump’s attacks on Amazon ought to reveal once and for all he absolutely does not give a rats ass about the venerated “white working class.” He just plays them for suckers. People in Trump country must enjoy getting played like a banjo.

Excellent article. It’s short, and do read it because it capsulizes (almost) all that is petty, insecure, stupid, and small about thump. Even though he came from a middle-class family, Bezos is way richer than thump and his finances aren’t hidden. He was a successful college student and is in a close, loving marriage/family. Besides the fact that he’s is great physical shape. AND he doesn’t rise to thump’s bait (I’m lookin’ at you Joe Biden).

The upshot:

Joe Biden is old and washed up and has his own baggage, so his tough guy talk doesn’t really come off as credible.

But I’ve felt that the right kind of blue collar, rust belt progressive could actually pull it off, taking Trump’s bait and shoving it right up his ass. Trump is a bully, and there’s no better way to silence a bully than to stand up and get right in his face. The right kind of tough guy could relentlessly taunt Trump and make him look weak. I just don’t know who that is yet.

I think the media and all of the Trump critics keep getting distracted by his twitter storms. There are perhaps two or three issues that, if relentlessly hammered home, could make Trump look like a pathetic weakling.

His missing tax returns and financial records are one such issue. If he’s a real billionaire then disclose all of his finances and let him prove it. Reporters need to keep hammering him on this. Just because he’s elected doesn’t mean it’s too late.

His draft dodging is another issue. Trump is a wanna be tough guy who thinks that his ‘service’ in a high school military academic makes him a bad-ass. In reality, he’s a paper tiger. There are veterans in the Democratic party who need to just come out and hammer him over this.

The right kind of left-leaning blue collar tough guy could go after Trump and Sean Hannity for good measure. The armchair warriors wouldn’t know what to do.

Well, lie.

I like this. I like this very much.

I was/am not a big fan of Hillary Clinton. Just didn’t seem right. I had hoped that Kasich would get the nod and he and Clinton would square off. Of course I ended up voting for Clinton since there was no other choice.

Og help us… it sounds like you guys are producers making casting decisions for reality TV.

Fighting fire with fire.

Sounds like you haven’t realized that presidential elections have been reality TV for almost 60 years.

Which has not exactly been an improvement, as such, but what they were before they were reality TV was not actually better.

Reality radio?

Testify. Remember when John Kerry went from War Hero to Commie Traitor, and draft-dodging Dubya sailed right overhead?

(Sigh) now I’m all nostalgic for the days when Repubs unequivocally hated the Russians. I think I’ll go watch the Walter Matthau scenes from Fail-Safe.

Wow, I agreed with most of what you said, but to start off like this? Classy.

Biden is a fairly decent guy, but he is past his Best By: date.

Dear Trumpland:

China has a little message for you.

They’ve seen enough of Trump.

It was pointed out today that the Trump campaign utilized Amazon to the tune of $150,000 during the election. Or maybe that was hush money for his affair with Jeff Bezos, not sure now.

Carpe tedium! Seize the dull!

Nah, Bezos has much better taste.

The fact that it helps the USPS is another reason for the Replutocrat Party to attack it – you can’t very well push the middle class down the road to serfdom (which is a key part of the right-wing agenda) while large employers with good pay and benefits remain viable.

This is, obviously, a level of chessplaying well above the Dotard’s comprehension, but that doesn’t matter – the party apparatchiks don’t need to make him understand it, they just need to stir up the bee colony that lives inside his ass.
