I don’t see a recent thread for Syria — am I correct that all discussions of Trump Administration “policies” belong in the Pit? I put “policies” in quotes to denote the English sounds that emanate from Trump’s 2nd diarrhea-hole. (What’s the technical name for animals, like jellyfish and Trump, which defecate from the same hole that they stuff their BigMacs into?)
The U.S. began interventions into the Syrian Civil War even before ISIS appeared on the scene. The intervention was intended to counter Bashar al-Assad (a war criminal) and to oppose the emerging Russia-Syria-Shi’ite Axis. I don’t have any simple silver-bullet solutions for the Middle East, but turning it all over to Vladimir Putin does not seem to be in the best interests of America or its allies. And obviously, defeat of ISIS isn’t reason to stop an intervention that was never about ISIS in the first place.
So imagine the astonishment of America’s top geopolitical thinkers and national security analysts with the words recently come out of the Diarrhea-Trap: we’re leaving Syria “real soon.” Last year, Trump canceled the CIA program to supply arms to rebels opposed to the Putin-Assad axis. He wants to stop the financial aid — which is a pittance comparable to the petty Trumpist grafts like pimping Ivanka’s Bangladesh-made shoes.
I guess the Diarrhea-Trap wants to be a hero for saving American lives. Nixon got us out of Vietnam where 58,000+ Americans lost their lives. Obama stopped most of the nonsense in Iraq where 4400+ American soldiers were killed.
So, how thankful should gullible voters be for this great withdrawal by President [del]Donald[/del] Diarrhea [del]Trump[/del] Trap? How many American soldiers have lost their lives in “Obama’s War” in Syria?
**Estimates of U.S. military casualties in Syria range from Two to Three. ** (That’s “three” with a double-E.)
On-line sources are as confused as I: “Given Trump’s relationship with Putin, it is also unclear what the current US goal is in the region.” If Trump were getting hundreds of millions from the Russian billionaires, at least we could applaud him for something, even if that something is just treason. But he seems content just to bilk the Secret Service by overcharging on Mar-a-Lago rooms.
Sorry if this is off-topic. Should I mention that I’m not a big fan of the Trump Clusterfuck?
The thread, or the soi-disant “Administration?”
There is a comment below that story by someone named Bryan Ekers.
Opposed to this thread? Hardly. With 105 posts I’m tied with simster for #48 in this thread’s counts, just ahead of …
Just two? I count five if you include his pee-hole. Wait…that’s his syphilis hole. Nevermind. Four.
This is the crux of the problem. THERE IS NO GOAL. Beyond getting thump’s name in the headlines that day and giving his fans a reason to pump their fists and shout, “Yeah!” That’s it. Nothing else. No goal. No “policy.” Nuttin’. Thump wouldn’t know a policy if it crawled up his nose.
Trump’s goal is to make sure that he avoids having to deal with the fallout from whatever komprat or leverdzh Putin may have on him. It is increasingly obvious that in Trump, we have a sitting American president who is a Putin asset. Putin has some sort of leverage over Trump and also other Republicans and right wing interests. He has successfully infiltrated our political and national security system, and he’s not just testing it out, he’s using it to facilitate the weakening of America’s political system and our national security. This isn’t a novel; this is really happening.
Thanks, America, for making sure that there’s only one superpower in the Middle East. That makes us feel all warm and safe.
Which is business as usual: the individuals get moved to a different post, the posts they left vacant get refilled. It’s not as if those posts are called “1.spy”, “2.spy”: they’re things such as “personal secretary to the ambassador” and “consulate security chief”.
You probably have a better sense of what’s happening in your neighborhood than most.
What do you think is going to happen between Iran and Saudi (and Israel)?
What do you think will be the role(s) - if any - of the US and Russia?
Trump doesn’t know what community colleges do.
or even, what the Post Office does.
Or even, what the POTUS does.
Or even, what that round thingy at the end of the plastic tube with toothpaste in it does.
Putin wants it all, so DumbFuck is gonna hand it all to him. Just wait and see. I can at least die knowing i did ONE thing right in my life - I voted against that traitor bastard.
Putin makes me nostalgic for the good old USSR.
Don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll try bringing it back when he judges that the stars are in an auspicious configuration.
Well, he’s likely to do without these “socialist” part this time.
^^
Well, if you look closely all those commie countries you’ll see that they weren’t actually communist or socialist but rather oligarchies. That is more right-wing than left-wing.
( same thing with Nazies, they really weren’t socialists, no matter what they said in the title. )
