The interview is already biting Trump in the ass. Trump and Hannity had been arguing that the seized materials were laden with privileged information. Citing that Hannity has claimed that Cohen doesn’t represent him, and that Trump now claims this morning that Cohen only performs a “tiny, tiny, little fraction” of his legal work, SDNY is arguing that it is unlikely that the seized materials contain significant privileged information.

Where’s the thread where Republicans explain to us mortals what’s happening? What was Comey’s motive for this alleged lie? A lie that tends to exonerate Trump — if he’d checked out of the hotel then the golden showers never happened. If Comey were making up lies to persecute Trump, couldn’t he have done better than changing the hotel checkout time in Trump’s favor? (Anyway, Comey said Trump told him he went back to his room to pack, while Trump denies saying he left “immediately.”)
