He is demented, he has dementia, but that is something different: that is malignant trolling. He does not have to overcome his frontotemporal dementia here, it is not an obstacle for him, it is a facilitator. And he is enjoying it.

How would Canada-as-a-single-state work, given it’s bigger in surface area than the entire rest of the country?

The size of the House is fixed at 435 unless Congress votes to increase it. Canada’s theoretical delegation would be assigned by removing seats from other states at the next redistricting. Depending on how many states it joined as it would probably have somewhere between 40 and 50 seats, and Canadians would probably insist on each province getting statehood, so you’d be looking at somewhere around 22-28 new senators depending on what happens to the territories.
None of this is going to happen anyway.
Conquered territories can be ruled by “Governors” too, without actually being admitted as states…
