That would certainly be justice of a poetry-adjacent kind.
Yeah. Though Donald may be all in for “war not social services” out of his general bloody-mindedness and desperate need to be seen as a Tough Guy, he’s also in it because grifting defense spending is a lot easier than grifting pre-school provision. (More time-honored, at least.)
Also, social spending helps people, while the military hurts people. Only “losers” help people, while “winners” hurt people; therefore cutting social services of all sorts is a worthy goal in itself, because it prevents other people than Trump from benefiting from society.
Trump’s worldview is a black hole of malignant narcissism; all benefits must only go one direction, to him.
Yes, very much so. And as you say, the ‘being a loser/being a winner’ “distinction” definitely is crucial to him.
But none of this will be an asset to Republicans running in just a few months. Can Donald really assure them that he can rig elections enough to overcome the disadvantage he’s imposing on them with the ‘war only’ message?
25th Amendment.
Announce that Trump has brain cancer: not his fault, affects his otherwise perfect decision-making. President Vance sues for peace, and spins the cost as something that our newfound economic freedom (=the old status quo) will buy us.
It will happen if he can squirm march triumphantly out of this war while declaring himself the winner. All it will take will be denying reality and lying with all the conviction of his narcissistic ego. I can see it happening. Truth and reality mean nothing to him, so no prob.
That’s an easy off-ramp for the U.S. but not for Trump.
And is also not so easy, who in that bunch of spineless wonders will have the huevos to event think about that?.
Yeah, I know. Just dreaming. You’re right that there’s no easy off-ramp for Trump: he’s painted himself into a corner, here and elsewhere, by making big decisions intiuitively instead of with preparation and diligence. Turns out, bullshitting and bullying aren’t as effective success strategies as he and his followers had hoped.
Sure he can. He’d be lying, but it’s not like that’s ever bothered him.
Also, the Republicans are not Trump; therefore, their welfare is of no importance to him. They are in the same position as all the other people who have sucked up to Trump in hope of advancing themselves, only to be casually discarded the moment they irritate him.
This is why I am extremely nervous that Trump’s next big idea will be dropping a nuke somewhere in Iran. And this is why Generals are being shown the door; they are saying not just no, but hell no.
I’d put the odds at 10%, which is way, way too high for my liking.
Also worried that our troops are injured/killed before a maga bomb attack, thus killing innocent people again and again, as already happened with the children’s hospital bombing
I’d be happy with a US withdraw and still claiming a false victory than this continuing.
@Moriarty It makes me quite nervous to hear the felon talking about “if Iran had a nuclear weapon they’d use it immediately”. Why? Because you know everything he accuses others is wha he’s doing himself. The US already has nuclear weapons. This is tantamount to him announcing he’s going to turn his vanity war nuclear at the first opportunity.
Paula White claims that when Trump (who cannot name a single Bible verse or even say which testament he likes better) was a boy he went to Sunday school three times a week.
No word on whether he had to walk 10 miles in the snow, uphill both ways, clutching a baked potato for warmth.
If he went to Sunday School at all, big deal. That’s just where the kids get dumped while the adults are in Church. It’s a crèche, not an indicator of Faith.
