The Trump Administration: The Clusterfuck Continues (Part 2)

I’m just shocked that he remembered something factually accurate.

I wish these folks wouldn’t exaggerate shit about Trump. It isn’t necessary. He clearly says “Stick’em up”. That is fake news. Stop it.

To be fair, that’s as likely to be a Rupar typo as anything.

Which most Americans (except the hands-over-ears right-wing bubble-folk) KNEW at the time. We knew why Musk was doing it, and we knew it would do nothing positive (and quite a lot negative) for Americans.

But it SHOULD be part of the Articles of Impeachment for Donald. He knew he was authorizing something that would harm the nation. He saw advantage for himself, so he didn’t care.

I don’t think Trump has this kind of self-awareness. He does not do things that harm the nation, he does things that will benefit him, either financially or his ego. I think that most of what this maladministration is doing is not particularly directed by him, at least not unless it is something he wants. He likes having lines he can say to get a great cheer at his rallies, so if his administration does one of those things, it benefits his ego.

//i\\

I think all those things are the same thing. He does things that harm the nation that also benefit him. He isn’t doing things that benefit him that also benefit the nation.

We have really got to take away that one copy of Pulp Fiction that is bouncing around the White House. Having said that, I would find it somewhat hilarious if Trump decided to copy Tarantino’s attitude about white people using the n-word, shouting it from the rooftops to “take the power away” from it. That is exactly the kind of thing I could see Trump doing and every time someone called him out on it he’d double down. But it is probably for the best if he refrains from saying it because if he does it, his followers will do it too and America doesn’t need that on top of everything else right now.

Yes, this is the entirety of his awareness.

They would be the same thing for a normal person, i.e., someone who can keep two thoughts in their head at the same time. Trump sees something that will benefit HIMSELF and that’s as far as he sees. He cannot see outside that box and doesn’t want to. If he could see outside the box of self-interest, he wouldn’t be interested.

True, but if that happens, it’s just a coincidence.

If something that benefits him also benefits the nation, that’s also a coincidence.

Only one thing matters: does it benefit him in some way, usually financially. Nothing else is in his sights.

He’s coming for the Smithsonian Institution next.

The executive order directed Vice President J.D. Vance, in consultation with the president’s advisers on domestic policy, “to remove improper ideology” from Smithsonian institutions, arguing that materials that cast America in a “negative light” have no place in federal cultural institutions.

Overall, the report takes issue with materials addressing “white supremacy,” “racism” and the country’s history of “slavery,” “conquest” and “exclusion.”

“As it stands today, it would benefit most Americans, especially parents bringing their children for a tour, if the Smithsonian’s flagship history museum had a label at every entrance that reads: ‘Warning: the exhibits in this museum were prepared by people who don’t want you to love your country.’”

You mean…

“Trump Smithsonian Institution”

I hear they have some letters to move from another building.

Anybody want to hazard a guess at what DJT’s always-and-forever first Wordle guess is?

And how hard he hammers the keyboard when it isn’t accepted??

“Failing New York Times,” indeed. It all makes sense now … as much as anything this POS says or does, that is.

Don’t you mean “Trumptonian Institution”? Who the hell is Smith anyway?

Even worse: who the hell is Smithson?

You just know the felon’s going to take this advice.

The felon claims he got Walmart to lower prices; Walmart ghosts him.

And now he’s chucking Apples instead of ketchup.

Note he did this in the presence of another country’s leader.

Probably not worth arguing about. But if I were to prepare an argument, it would include as supportive evidence the fact that he has done so little that benefited the nation. By the law of averages, if he were utterly unaware of the difference (between actions that harm and actions that benefit the nation), some would have shown up by now.

I agree with you that he prioritizes his own ego and/or financial benefit.

But I believe he derives some of the ego benefit from the knowledge that he is harming Americans. It makes him feel powerful. Also, if he is harming classes of Americans who can’t fight back (seniors; trans kids; Spanish-speakers; women in general), he gets the additional benefit of pleasing his fans.

So, yes: I think he IS aware that he’s doing harm, and he’s pleased about it.

Except he has an overwhelming need for external validation. That’s why he’s trying to name everything after himself and build monuments and so on.

He’s just really bad at it. He wants everybody to love him. And insists they already do, because he’s always thought repeating something enough times and with sufficient insistence will make it true. And it’s why he can’t let go of the 2020 election or anything he sees as a popularity contest. And for marginalized folks? He’s never really seen them as actual human beings. Or at least not equals, so harming them doesn’t really “count” to him.

Trump literally cannot comprehend how any idea he has backfires. It’s always somebody else’s fault because his ideas must be brilliant. He’s sociopathic and worse, as a wealthy person, out of touch with the average person, so it never strikes him that what is good for him can possibly be bad for the country.

And since he’s doing so well for the country, he should be remembered eternally and with gratitude by erecting statues and monuments, and naming everything under the sun after him.

I think this is highly dubious becase it assumes that (a) actions that benefit the nation are as likely as those that don’t and (b) actions that benefit his own ego or finances (which are his focus as you say) are as likely to benefit the nation as not.

Both these propositions seem unlikely or frankly simply wrong.

As to (a) governing well to the benefit of a nation as a whole is hard - it doesn’t happen by accident, and Trump is incompetent. Actions that fark things up are easy. Not to mention that because Trump only represents a certain minority segment of the US population any governing actions he does take tend to benefit only them - so those actions end up overall being harmful.

As to (b) benefitting his ego or finances pretty obviously tends to be at the cost of the nation as a whole.

And we have more evidence it’s a cult.

The Belgians have a word or two for the felon.

The felon’s mini-me still doesn’t get it.

Just in case you somehow forgot the convicted felon is also a racist…

Q: Is he lying? A: He’s breathing.

The 350 folks are the ones the felon would care about if he knew the race of the others.

Come get your Freedom Fries Fuel!

And how much is he saving the cultist?

Our disaster of a president is Saab’s benefit.

The felon just lost another battle in his war on the press.

And just in case you think the United States isn’t a unitary entity under the felon.

The horror! Advertising, in Spanish yet, how much the hospital charges for its services. Tsk, tsk, tsk. (Why don’t we have the “shame on you emoticon”?

No, no, no. Dictators go over here. The link is to a video. Here’s the beginning of the blurb.

Trump’s coins made more than cryptocurrency exchanges.

How Trump made more than $1 billion on crypto when most of his coin's investors lost money - ABC7 San Francisco

$TRUMP was an instant success, catapulting to a $15 billion market valuation, according to CoinMarketCap. It’s now worth just $400 million - a 97% implosion.

Trump stands to gain from his memecoin’s market value. But irrespective of whether $TRUMP rose or fell, he earned transaction fees each time $TRUMP was bought or sold.

Investors in $TRUMP may have been attracted because they wanted to support the president. They may have done it for the novelty or because they believed it would be lucrative .

But some big-pocketed investors poured money into the memecoin to gain access to Trump.

Last May, Trump hosted a black-tie dinner as a special reward for the top 220 holders of $TRUMP. Attendees contributed millions of dollars in investments in his crypto token. The 25 biggest investors gained access to a small VIP reception with the president.

So the $TRUMP memecoin may have been a lousy investment over the past year. But some of its investors still gained something. Trump certainly did.

Don’t even think of asking exactly who bought $TRUMP and how upset they are about putting literal quid directly into Trump’s pocket for who knows what pro quo.

Of course - it’s a building full of facts and evidence of the truth. It must be destroyed.
