This is actually the usual practice for commemorative coins. While some are issued for circulation (e.g. state quarters, Presidential dollars), most are sold at a premium, as both proof and uncirculated. The real question is how many will be sold. I expect Trump or his minion will order an exceptionally large minting and most will end up unsold in the Treasury Department’s vault.
My guess is that trump, his family, and minions will buy millions of them with tax payer money. And somehow or other they (as in trump Et al.) will get a kickback or profit from it.
Someone with at least one living brain cell needs to tell him off in front of others. The least expensive way of doing what Rip van Simple wants is likely to scrap what’s already built and start over beginning with a redesign from the keel all the way to the crow’s nest (yes, that’s still a thing). The ship is designed for balance and buoyancy. You cannot just relocate a massive structure like the ship’s island without greatly affecting those. As for the EMALS, it was new technology, so of course there would be problems with it. The Navy now says EMALS works well and, get this, saves money. But, hey, Felon One, what do facts have to do with anything?
He has already said that stealth is ugly. And also [cite]:
“An F-35 has a single engine; I don’t like single engines,” Trump said, before gesturing to GE Aerospace chief executive Larry Culp. “Even this man, he’s the best in the world at engines. But on occasion, I know you won’t admit this, if an engine goes out, it’s nice to have two, three or four. That’s why I like the 747, it’s got four.”
[…]
The intentions behind Trump’s comments about upgrading the F-35 and the F-55, and his preference for a dual-engine jet, were unclear. But Aboulafia said that if Trump was advocating for modifying the F-35 with a pair of engines, that would be virtually impossible short of a massive restructuring of the entire jet.
To do that, he said, Lockheed Martin would have to “rip apart the entire middle of an F-35, [and] replace it with a completely different middle. You should probably get new wings with it … just for stability. … That might be the worst idea ever, but theoretically, sure [it could be done]. It would just be a new aircraft.”
But that was all over one year ago, so it is no longer true. Apart from the part about the worst idea ever. He is good at that.
trump had a photo op Friday where he held up a Washington Post article saying drug prices are at their lowest in 60 years, taking credit for it and sharing a pic of him proudly holding up the article on social media.
If he had just had someone read the contents of the actual article to him though, he would have found out that the article gives the credit for the price drop to a Biden-era policy.
This is much more than a “snub”. What idiot* expects Senators to vote for an appropriation bill worth trillions, when they’ve had no opportunity to even look at it?
Trump has decided to scale back the scheduled Joint Military Exercises with South Korea because they didn’t support him in the Iran war. And Kim Jong Un has been nothing but “unthreatening and respectful”.
It’s patently the easiest thing in the world to do. Take the following quiz on hypothetical questions. I’ll give you three hints: 1) every answer is one word, 2) every answer has just five letters, and 3) it’s the same answer for every question.
Who has done the most for America in the history of the universe?
Who should get a third term?
Who is mistretated by the fake news?
Facts don’t matter. Reality is what the magaflatearthers are told by the traitor’s fans and enablers say it is. Critical thinkinng is un-American.
How I wish I were kidding. Cry, the beloved country.
Yeah, that missile launch on August 12, 2026 in protest to that military exercise had nothing to do with that very same military exercise.
Personally, I think he should be drug tested after that comment. Supporting someone is not ordering them to do something opposite to what they just announced to the nation. Blanche’s boss does not support Pirro.
