The Two Towers full-length trailer!

Quicktime version

I think this trailer makes it clear that The Two Towers will be even bigger and better than The Fellowship of the Ring, and I couldn’t imagine how that would be possible! (At least, before I read the books, which I read after I saw the first movie)

Ten more weeks…

Thanks for the link, Equipoise. That made my morning!

I think one gets a quick glimpse of an Ent in there, scooping up a Hobbitt.

Yep, sure was. And wargs, and an oliphant too. And more gollum (I’ve spent lots of time capturing stills from it, and I even got gollum’s face while Sam is holding him). More Eowyn. Eomer speaking. More Gandalf and the Balrog. More everything!
This is one trailer where we KNOW we’re not seeing the best parts, and where no one can say “well, I’ve seen the trailer, I don’t have to see the movie now” (unless of course, they’re loony toons to begin with).

I saw this on AOL just now…It looks like this movie will be fun to watch too.

Liv Tyler and some other woman both speak in the trailer for about 10-15 seconds each. That’s probably all of their lines, right?

I am counting down the days!

OMG! Was that more footage of Gandalf fighting the Balrog?

Did I see Legolas shield surfing down a flight of stairs at Helms Deep, while shooting arrows?

Did I see the bottom half of an Ent picking up a hobbit?

Did I see Wargs?

Was than an Oliphant?

Sam and Frodo wrestling Gollum to the ground??

I…I…I…can’t…no…umpf…[faints]

So, clearly they’re not bothering to keep the return of Gandalf as a surprise.

Also, I may have been seeing things, but was there a black box over Gollum’s bottom in one (very brief) shot?

Yikes!

Does anyone know if the last 30 seconds is featuring actual new music for the movie, or if that comes from another movie?

That music at the end blew me away. Amazing trailer!

I just checked for the “black box over Gollum’s bottom”. I think they did but a black blur over it. Probably to keep the trailer G rated.

The music at the end is from “Requiem for a Dream” http://us.imdb.com/Title?0180093

Brian

For some odd reason the site is going slowly (gee, I wonder why), but Gandalf showed up in the original trailer at the end of Fellowship of the Ring and in the Two Tower preview footage on the DVD.

There’s a couple reasons they are not hiding Gandalf’s return.

  1. When Peter Jackson had a poll on theonering.net, Gandalf the White was voted the number one thing the fans wanted to see. Helms deep was number two.

  2. The books came out fifty years ago. Sorry, we are a bit past spoiler space on this one.

  3. It’s difficult to reveal any of the story(like this last trailer did) without a single shot of Gandalf.

Where’s a link to a Windows Media version?

(They won’t let me install RealPlayer or Quicktime on my machine at work and I can’t want 3 more hours till I get home!)

OOOOOO Ent feet and a quick arm picking up Merry or Pippin. Wowie this is going to rock even more than the first one.

  1. You don’t have a distinguished and well-known actor like Ian McKellen in your movie then keep him HIDDEN until after the movie opens. There are interviews and other promotional things to be done.

I think the “black box” is just a bit of loincloth. What, you wanted to see gollum’s bum for the whole movie? bleh!

Pervy hobbit fanciers…
