In my timeline I was about to post how good he is in this role when the power went out, undoubtedly as a result of some interference from the Commission.
Season 2 was good but it feels like they keep using the same plot lines
How many times can vanya cause the apocalypse, then five teleports them to a new world afterwards?
Twice?
Twice seems reasonable to me.
I don’t think I would have (too brief a look) but now that you’ve mentioned it it makes a lot of sense.
I think it was Luther who opined that Lila can only do one thing at a time but even the other characters (maybe Diego, I’m not sure) asked if he was sure and/or how he knew that. I believe it is true, but they left it open. As for fanwanking the explanation, I’d say whatever allows Lila to copy another’s power also picks up that persons skill at using that power. Coupled with her own prodigious skills, and in Vanya’s case a lack of emotional baggage hindering Vanya’s use of the powers, she was able outperform the UA at their own game.
It was something they were facing for the first time. Some of them will be better prepared the next time.
The UA? I think you mean Team Zero.
Easter eggs in Season 2: According to this there are 43 sparrows hidden throughout the season
I missed them on my first watch through. Which is to say, I may have seen some but didn’t know to pay attention to it yet.
I spent all evening watching all the Umbrella Academy commentary I could find on YouTube.
I am loving this show more and more.
I don’t know why I thought that Ben committed suicide, but I think there’s room for that even going back over what we’ve seen in the show. We know that he died “on a mission,” and that Reginald blames the others for that death, but that’s vague enough that he could have taken his own life.
I am also liking the point of view that all the characters reflect the consequences of parental abuse and neglect,
I just rewatched season 1 of Umbrella Academy. It’s really a very incisive examination of abuse and childhood trauma, something that I’m confronted with in my situation. It’s quite amazing actually. The characters display aspects of coping with abuse, neglect, and trauma
No. 1 spends his life staying loyal to his abusive parent and always trying to live up to his standards
No. 2 goes renegade but spends his life trying to prove he can do everything better his own way with extreme violence
No. 3 spends her life manipulating everyone around her to create a safe space for herself
No. 4 copes with drugs and addiction
No. 5 is arrogant and is prematurely adult and is amoral
No. 6 dies young, maybe suicide maybe as a direct result of the abuse
No. 7 spends her life believing she is useless and a failure and is further victimized by her siblings who take their cues from the parent
I just bought all three volumes of the comic book on Kindle. It’s quite funny, and many of the plot elements are there, but it’s very different. It doesn’t handle the character issues as subtly and as thoroughly as the TV series does.
I’ve avoided the comics but I’ve read comments from people that the show is actually an improvement on the books, so your comment doesn’t surprise me. I’m glad you’re enjoying the comics because I do intend to have a gander at them once the series has passed them or been deemed over.
Well, I just binged both seasons in 5 days. That was a lot of fun. I’m really hoping that next season keeps the cast together most of time, or at least in groups. I care far more about their interactions with each other than with the rest of the cast.
I’m guess the Sparrow Academy will be Ben plus some of the other 43 kids. The whole time I was watching I was wondering why no one brought up the fact that a bunch of other kids were born to non-pregnant mothers the same date. I’m glad they revealed in the last ep that they didn’t know.
[quote=“AlsoNamedBort, post:53, topic:916878, full:true”]I’m glad they revealed in the last ep that they didn’t know.

I’m not sure that they actually “revealed … that they didn’t know.” All they revealed was their surprise at having been replaced by the Sparrow Academy. That doesn’t mean that they were never aware of the other children born under the same circumstances.
I’m talking about Lila. When they figure out she has powers they realize that that Reg lied to them and there were more than 7 kids
Dude, Diego knew her birthday. They know they weren’t the only kids born that day under mysterious circumstances.
Can we see you on screen?
Here’s my rough transcript as I’m watching and typing:
Vanya: “She might as well be one of us”
Luther: “No, there’s no way. It can’t be.”
Allison: “It’s a a reasonable conclusion.”
Klaus: “Yeah, but there were only seven of us.”
Vanya: “Maybe we need to consider there’s more of us out there?”
Allison: “Are we surprised? Dad never told us the whole truth about anything.”
Diego: “But she’s not our biological sister… right?”
*silence from everyone*
Yes! Season two, episode two, right at the start. Two guys rolling a gurney down the hall. I’m the fat one. Just the one scene, but so fun!
You are the “farted all the way into the oven” guy? That’s awesome!!!
